On the right hand side there is a tube which clearly goes into the battery to deal with any overflow from expansion. What about the left? Do I keep the plug in or just remove and leave open?
Definitely remove them as they're for transport only, so I hope that 's what you did...

Just pull it out whilst standing next to the car? No need to stand in the frunk at all.
