Hi, I'm hoping some knowledgeable person/persons out there could offer some advice.
I'm looking at buying a Porsche 911 (2001) the car is based in Cambridge, rather than travel down to Cambridge and the drive it back to Manchester, I thought I would have it transported to my home address.

Have any of you used this method of delivery before, If so would you know of any reliable transporter companies I could contact for a quote?

Circuit 2 Circuit are excellent. Have always been 100% reliable in my experience and a pleasure to deal with.

Or try uShip, or similar

https://www.uship.com/uk/car-transporters/

They are brokers and they submit your info to various transport companies and they then contact you with their best quote, references, reviews, etc.

You then choose who you want to use. Usually better value because they are often empty vehicles on a return leg.

Speak to CARS who are based in Bury St Edmunds. Also speak to EM Rogers who are also based in the region. Both are incredibly experienced and meticulous. They're near to Cambridge and incorporating your vehicle into a route up North will offer a better price on a shared load.

Be specific on requirements (less of an issue with CARS and EM Rogers who will talk through specific detail) but 'covered' isn't the same for every transporter. I've always preferred to have vehicles under cover to protect against in transit damage on motorways and that doesn't mean having a tarp thrown over it which will rub.

Check that the wheels are photographed by the dealer prior to loading and check them when they come off. Depending on who you use, how they transport and how they load the vehicle, there is always a chance of damage. You don't want to get into a 'it was fine when it left us' conversation.
