I think those of who are left just have to carry on without him.

It's what he would have wanted.

I'll start the ball rolling:

Nope! No matter what you said, it's wrong. Patently, obviously wrong. You put up a straw man argument and then you made an ad hominem attack on me. You are a fool and an idiot who knows nothing about anything. By every metric the delta between what I know and what you know is immense. Do one!

If anyone else is particularly missing this, let me know and I'll rattle up a few more.

I think you mean the forum contributor formerly known as caboosemoose (yes really) but more recently known as cmoose, now an ex-cmoose, has done a vamoose ?

I did wonder why the Poverty Porsche thread had gone quiet. It's a bit of a shame he's gone.

We did have a couple of ding dongs, I'll admit the way he passed off his opinions as gospel would wind me up. He could be pretty abrasive and always needed the last word in an exchange but I don't think he took any of it to heart. He offered me his 987 Boxster S front bumper for free which was nice of him. I didn't get it in the end as I found one closer so I haven't met him but I'm sure he's a nice guy. The internet can bring the worst of us out and with 50k posts I guess there was more chance to see it with cmoose.

I'd like him back, it's also a shame his previous posts are deleted. It looks like I've been arguing with myself now like a mental case. laugh

Censorship on Pistonheads a bit silly of late. Post anything that is critical of China and it gets deleted and you get banned from the thread. Cancel culture in operation. Restriction on free speech
Or some people keep getting reported for trolling EV forum?

Well I'm not surprised that he got banned.

Yes, he has quite a lot of valuable knowledge and opinions, but he exhibited a massive lack of self-awareness regarding how his confrontational style would be perceived by others. Like some other contributors to this thread, I tended to tune out of his argumentative posting but these arguments made the threads much poorer. He has - or had - an air of moral superiority, and because he has a better vocabulary than most (but not all) of his interlocutors, he would attempt to intimidate or bully them by his posts (in my opinion, obviously).

When he occasionally met his match, his tone would change quite markedly.

Like him, though, I really rate Porsche Caymans so I'm glad he has found himself a good one and is enjoying the ownership experience to the full.

Nothing wrong with having opinions, especially when you have decent knowledge of what you’re talking about, but I think calling others psychopaths, passive aggressive and bullies, bearing in mind his posting style....was possibly the ultimate irony..

For better or worse I think most banned posters are missed somewhat, regardless of their idiosyncratic styles. Cmoose will obviously be the same.

I must admit however in regards for the good of the forum, there were way more times than I’d care to remember clicking on a thread, seeing the ‘moose either posting opinion dressed up as fact, or arguing with someone his opinion is fact with someone else and not bothering posting.

His technical knowledge was great, his opinions often flawed but his debating skills and were atrocious.

He also had that awful knack of bearing a forum grudge and disagreeing with you for ever more just because you pulled him up on an error years ago.

Thanking about it, if he has an alter ego on here it’s jsf hehe

Nah, can't be. Wheels are too big.

I hope CM reads this thread and sees that, in general, while a few people appreciated his contributions, most thought him a tt. As I did, though sometimes there were some useful insighrs.

Good grief. I discovered PH in February, and it was partly his, well, astringent Cayman posts that persuaded me to get a 987.2.

But now his posts are deleted and I cannot reconstruct why I bought this automobile. What ever was so good about it?
