Love using mine. One of those rare cars that makes the mundane enjoyable, to the point, even going into the city last night to watch a rock concert, we took my car, rather than the Mrs’ runaround (which is easier to park and a hell of a lot cheaper and less conspicuous) just because. Actually had a great drive both ways.

A big dog and a Mrs with a wheelchair has always limited my choices.

Incredibly we can get wheelchair in the boot of an SL and still lower the roof. No other "sports" car we ever tried managed that.

So that was the weekend sports car. Our other car needs to be an estate or large hatchback at least. So you can see why the Cross Turismo looked like the perfect solution with all the tax breaks on top.

If BMW made an M5 touring I would have bought one. I did consider a B5 Alpina, but the wheels simply wouldn't have stood up to the roads around where I live. Plus it was £100k and shed value at an astonishing rate.

In fact if BMW made an interesting petrol engined 5 series touring I would have bought one. 550i or 540i, but they don't or certainly didn't when I was looking.

That's pretty my how I ended up in an S6 Avant. It was the last of it's kind and now that's dead. The E500 Merc no longer existed, BMW made no big petrol engined tourings for the UK, so it was either full fat AMG's or RS cars - or the S6.

Ah ok this makes far more sense. I have the same issue with Mercedes. I had a C63 which was the worst car I have ever had the misfortune to own. Poor build quality, a litany of issues meant it spent 6 weeks of my 3 month ownership in the workshop. It has coloured my perception of the brand and like you, I would never buy another.

Go buy the FF and don’t worry about BIK tax.

It’s not the largest or most practical of boots on the CT, especially given the sheer size of the car. I’m a bit disappointed the OPC still don’t have my rear mount bike rack yet. I definitely wish I still also had my VW T6 van and reckon, even if the rack arrives, I’ll probably get another van too.

Same here Digga. My bike does fit in the boot, but I can’t help but think the rack will be easier to live with. I assume it’s a component supply issue rather then the OPC?

Mines coming with the rack option, but does this mean the official Porsche rack isn’t available yet?

When you fold down the rear seats, you can just about lift a eMtb in if you remove the wheels. The problem is scratching paint, the boot threshold and worst of all, the outside seat bolsters which remain in situ when you fold seats and could easily be damaged.

The rack shortage is some sort of supplier/production/logistics issue, but I don’t know precisely what.
