Regen. Am I doing this right?
Anyone else find the left hand button really useful as a sort of 'drop it down a gear' when coming into speed limits or controlling pace downhill? I seem to use mine a lot.
Only had a couple of test drives thus far (one for a day).Anyone else find the left hand button really useful as a sort of 'drop it down a gear' when coming into speed limits or controlling pace downhill? I seem to use mine a lot.
Yes, that's the regen button. 3 modes I believe - "off"; "auto"; "on".
Off = no regen on lift off
Auto = allows the car to coast as much as it can on lift off, but applies regen if it sense the car getting close to other traffic etc
On = regen on lift off (I preferred this mode, but was mainly using the car on country roads)
I *think* the car uses regen as much as it can when actually pressing the brake pedal rather than using the discs. I think how much it does that depends on battery charge etc.
Not sure which "left" button you mean? If it's the regen one, then it's as above I think.

Yeah, I get on or off. And on, I'd say it's not aggressive enough. It's like Porsche tried to make it feel like normal engine braking, which it does. But it's completely insufficient for one pedal EV style driving. A big frustration of mine with the car.
I’m pretty sure Murph is correct, there should be an Auto regen setting (signified by the A signal). For me, one pedal driving doesn’t appeal, so when my car arrives I will be happy with the setting that provides some ‘engine’ braking, similar to a petrol car.I think you need to hold down the button for a couple of seconds for the Auto mode to be engaged?

Like those wheels
Just goes to show! We all have different tastes. One of the reasons I didn’t go for an ST was I didn’t like any of the wheels much and like the Cross Turismo forged rims more than any other wheel offered by Porsche!
I don’t like the plastic wheel arch trim on the CT but the wheels tipped the balance

Never really seems to make much difference and doesn't give more regen braking.I think you need to hold down the button for a couple of seconds for the Auto mode to be engaged?
With it 'off' the car holds pace beautifully. It really glides about in a very relaxed way.

Press and hold and then it uses the camera to apply regen braking as you approach another vehicle - otherwise it coasts. I thought it was fab on demo car but having ACC I don't now use it.
Now the P7 Elect Pirellis are actually really good - this from the worlds biggest PS4-S evangelist fan boi!

Just got my Taycan Cross Turismo 4S this week.
Keep getting notifications on my phone saying “The temperature adjustments in your vehicle have been completed”
Don’t have any preheat or anything like that set - anyone any ideas?

Does it on mine on occasion. The app has got a mind of its own. I got the dreaded amber electrical fault warning the other day too. It’s akin to the Windows BSOD, just switch it off for 20 mins and switch it back on again.

No. I find the coasting with regen off quite unpleasant, like rolling along in neutral, so just leave it in sport the entire time.Anyone else find the left hand button really useful as a sort of 'drop it down a gear' when coming into speed limits or controlling pace downhill? Auto mode isn't intended to give more regen. It gives less, but some, as coasting is meant to be good for range, but coasting into the back of other cars less so. (it's not ACC as that holds a given speed, whereas coasting doesn't).With it 'off' the car holds pace beautifully. It really glides about in a very relaxed way.
On my first test drive I didn't like regen off or in auto. As someone else noted, it's like putting an ICE car in neutral with it off, and I couldn't fathom wtf was happening in auto
Regen on I liked. But I think it's key to understand that pressing the brake pedal actually uses regen to varying degrees to slow the car down. It's very clever as it gives the benefits of regen whilst feeling like a normal car to drive. Personally I think it'd be nice to have the option of one pedal driving too...but I guess there are challenges with offering too many options.
I also believe regen doesn't work much/at all until the brakes are bedded in, and possibly a few other criteria.
(Id like the opportunity to test all of this daily, but I don't even have a lock date yet. I'm expecting late Q1 2023 now....with a slim chance of sooner.)

Good to know - and expected really as if the ride is still centered on the sus centre point of travel at normal ride height (allowing more bump absorbing travel than you get in low or high modes) be it CT or ST. What tyres is it on? Mine is on P7 and they are absolutely great. Hoping same will be true for great ride on my GTS ST...but am a bit worried as I LOVE the CT 4S's ride quality.
Mine came with Pirelli’s again and they are great. Like others I had hoped my previous Cross Turismo would come with Michelins as I’ve had bad experiences in recent years with Pirelli’s but these Pirelli’s are great, no complaints in winter, summer, rain etc, no tramlining. Very pleased.

Thanks, I had the Cross Turismo specific blade 21s on my CT and thought they were lovely. These are the 21 Sport Design. Much cooler in the flesh as they have a nice dished shape. I’d prefer then painted grey rather than diamond cut to be honest but still very nice.fblm said:
Good spot! I remember the album coming out and listening to it, on repeat, on my Sony Walkman on a family road trip through the Midwest. The.n going to see it live a few months later, which was truly epic. The tune Just came up on my Spotify random.
