I’ve had my Cross Turismo 4s on order since January and still no closer to getting an estimated build/delivery date despite being told Aug/Sept when I ordered it. It doesn’t look like it’s going to be this year so I’m seriously considering cancelling as the IPace I’ve been renting in the meantime seems to be just as good for only 2/3rds the price.
I ran an I Pace for 3 years and swapped it for a Turbo CT 4 months ago . Last week , I borrowed my business partner's I pace for a short trip - I was really surprised at how it drove - not badly , but the Taycan is in a different league .

I'd have an I Pace again as it was a great car , but the Taycan is a fantastic car ...

You won’t look back. I have the Turbo S. it’s OTT. You don’t need it and the 4S is the sweet spot. I got carried away with marketing / sales and history. Electric is the future and the instant power gives the sensation you need and not stats like 0-62, BHP etc. enjoy and congratulations…… as petrol ticks over £2/litre….

Anyone know what current delivery times are?
I ordered a GTS ST first week in Feb...dealer was originally hopefully I'd be in a car this year. They confirmed they had been allocated 1 for the rest of this year (and I'm 12-15 on the list I think).

I'm currently thinking I'll be lucky to see it in 2023 now.

i asked again yesterday, unless you have a relationship with a dealer who will bump you up the list is 24 months. Im going to lease a tesla Y and then place an order on a taycan in a year which will give me a car when the tesla lease runs out

I ordered mine end of March so hope this isn't going to be more than a year.

Looks like there is a £20 to 25k premium on new ones in stock.

Just wondering how many folk have spec'ed the PSCBs over the standard steels and if you think they are worth the extra £2105

I had the PSCB’s on a Macan Turbo, but only because they came as standard. I certainly wouldn’t have spec’d them, and found them a bit grabby. I never entertained the idea for the Taycan, and given most of the braking is regenerative, why bother? The steels are more than enough for me.

90% of braking on a Taycan utilises the electric motor rather than the physical brakes, so the benefits of low brake dust on the PSCBs is minimal. Personally I’m also not keen on the shiny / mirror finish, so had no difficulty in resisting the chance to spend even more money on my spec!

Unless you're a regular at track days, the additional performance of the larger PSCB brakes over the steels is unnecessary, and probably for most people not worth the extra cost.

Having said that, they do look much better with open wheels, and you do need them if you want the Mission E wheels, so there are other reasons to get them.

Do they still force you to have them with the Mission-E wheels? I must say, they do look pretty cool, but I've done 14k miles in mine and I don't think they've bedded in fully yet (due to regen braking).

I think they are compulsory with Mission-E wheels.

Regen braking is disabled for the first x miles (c. 500 (I think) but dependent on driving style) in order to bed the brakes in.

Yep, either PSCB or PCCB required for the Mission E wheels only.

No regen when you're fully charged either, which is very weird when you only ever drive with it on!

Unless I know I have a long journey coming up (in which case switching to 'direct charging mode overrides the setting) I always set my home and work charging to just 85%. It is, apparently, better for the battery too, as well as giving a bit more consistent regen braking.

What happens if you buy a set of Mission E wheels after the fact and just put them on with the standard brakes? Does this somehow alter the space time continuum or can you just rock on?

Unfortunately, Porsche's moronic use of a region locked sim card in the "infotainment" system means none of the account services and most of the "infotainment" guff doesn't work here so AFAIK I can't tell it how much to charge. Idiotic design given how easy it would have been to provide a sim slot or esim.

So you can’t set air on to de-frost and desist the car in the mornings either. biggrin
