Over the last week my RWD Taycan with 79 kWh was showing 235m at 8C temp at 95% in Range mode (now gone as px’d it). My 4S ST is showing 197m at 6C at 96% in Range mode and that’s a 93kWh battery.

I’m interested to know about the range others are getting on their 4S, I was hoping for a significant improvement over my RWD but now I’m a bit concerned….

My 4S CT started at about 190 on a full charge, after 6 weeks it’s now 240 fully charged as the car has ‘learnt’

I can’t get anywhere near that in my 4S, though it hasn’t had the upgrade yet. Yesterday I charged to 86% and had a range of 177 miles, cold and foggy morning and the range dropped to 154 within the first 3 miles! After 10 miles or so things improved (in range mode) and when I got home after a round trip of 110 miles I had 66 miles left.

Maybe it’s my driving style or typical journeys (15-20 miles, not often in heavy traffic), but I can’t see how I can get anywhere near your range numbers. Haven’t had to use a public charger yet, but there’s some uncomfortable reading on the Taycan forum about reliable charging times across the network, a 450 mile trip at Xmas is going to be a baptism of fire!

My 4S was delivered June 22 and came with the latest software from the factory. On 21 inch wheels at 100% charge was running at about 255 miles in the summer but at 2° Damp foggy weather with seat heaters and a cold battery this is more like 210miles (although switched to 20 inch winter wheels). Consistently just left the air con and never used ranged mode.
Re the charging network, the key to fast charging seems to be to pre condition the battery temperature during the journey by using the nav to select the charging destination. I seem to be getting consistently almost double the speed using this method (well over 220 KwH) on the Ionity chargers.

Presumably, your car has the faster onboard charger option then?

My car is in for the update next week, I’d be delighted with your range. I’ve read mixed reviews of the Porsche navigation, some saying the charging stations aren’t always working, but I guess you can cross reference with another app.

Don't get too excited re the software update - it reduced my range from around 240 to 220 (CT Turbo). Thanks Porsche, very helpful. mi/Kw around 2.3-2.6 on average. Charging speeds are very hit and miss IME and I haven't worked out a reliable plan to consistently ensure fast charging despite using the car almost exclusively for journeys of over 100 miles.

I had my old RWD updated a couple of weeks ago before I px’d it. Didn’t make an iota of difference to my range. But to caveat that it is my understanding that the 4wd models are the ones that are supposed to benefit the most from it. Feeling short changed at the moment.

I’m having a nightmare with my CT 4S in this weather.

Essentially the heating is not working at all. My battery temp is reading 1 deg C. I thrash it a bit and it goes up to 12-13 deg and I get some heat but it’s woeful. Porsche can’t give me a courtesy car till Jan so I’m going to have to call Porsche Assistance so I get a replacement car.

Anyone else having heating issues?

No. Mine’s on timer and always toasty.

Just a shame the washer jets aren’t heated, but otherwise fine. Uses up a fair bit of charge to heat mind you.

I’m not sure the battery temperature has anything to do with your heating. The car should heat instantly when you open it regardless of whether you have set a schedule or not. You should take it back to Porsche as there is some other fault.

The pre-conditioning should makes things toasty in the cabin, so if it's not working there's definitely something wrong. I tend to use my heated seats more than the air conditioning (usually left at 20 degrees and a low manual fan setting).

This is a known issue and we had this on our first Taycan, thankfully it happened in the summer so not the safety concern it would be today. We were advised to either wait for a courtesy car at the OPC or as you suggest call Porsche assist.

I note that on the specific Taycan forum, there are recent reports of cars being delivered and failing their PDIs because of this and wait times for parts haven’t been favourable.

Since the update I’ve hardly used my car (got a Mini Cooper onneinters), but since picking it up the app has been stuck in privacy mode, denying me access to any of the remote functions like preheat. The dealer promised to resolve the issue but one week on I’m still waiting. I’ve owned 7x911’s over the years, all from new and while I have had issues with some of them the Taycan takes the biscuit. However, it is a brilliant car.

Similar issue with mine! This morning it was -9C and I couldn’t remote preheat my 4S ST, I very carefully went around and lifted all the handles before opening so that I didn’t risk motor/mechanism damage. Then the windows were stuck so had to spray de-icer to get them open. All worked fine after that, BUT at 97% charge battery temp was showing -4C and range was…..wait for it….154miles.

The heating uses a lot of battery when it is this cold but works fine so far. Getting 1.8 to 2.1 miles per kWh

-10 here this morning, preheat working faultlessly here.
Flap, frozen shut on the charger this evening and can’t be arsed to faff about to unfreeze it so will find out if it preheats tomorrow even though it’s not plugged in.

Anyone else’s washer jets frozen? Mine haven’t worked all week. It’s a bit crap on a car of this value.

What wheels are those? They look very nice but I can't see them on the configurator.
