Drive the blue 4S at Swindon today. Lovely car, loads of power but not crazy fast. Will be placing an order but I think gentian blue has dropped off my shortlist though… didn’t work for me! Struggling with the colour choice badly, think I will end up with free black and spend the paint money elsewhere on the options list
Mamba Green with red interior for us. The Neptune blue looks great too SWoll said:
I've opened a dialogue with my dealer about PTS. His response was that it is likely to be available but with an unknown timescale and it's not unusual for these orders to take a year or so. Mainly as they are painted in batches.I'm unlikely to see my car this year as it is and I wouldn't be surprised if it was pushed back even further given the sheer volume of orders and international supply issues with components. To that end I'd like to go with PTS if it's available so I've asked him to find out what is actually possible.
I'll update here if I get anything further to report.
Im struggling with the Turbo and Turbo S wheels in 20". These are best for range by quite a bit (nothing in it between 19" and 20" though) but in the flesh are a bit ugly - both i've seen have solid bits. One seems to have a black brake disk type thing behind the spokes that hides the shiny steel actual disk! Maybe better for aero?
I'm seriously researching Mission E look aftermarket forged wheels that look as OEM as poss. About £2500 for 22" (but I want 20").
I might well hold out for the MY22 as mine is due Sept and Oct is being mentioned now too - as Android phone connection will be a big bonus.
How long from end of production and getting car to UK to see if timings work?

Both nice colours! I think I’ll end up with volcano or black for a more understated look. Re: the wheels, again I don’t love any of the 20” choices so will have to be a compromise and fingers crossed it looks good when it arrives!
Never been quite sure what the issue is with the 20" Turbo S wheels TBH, look good to me (especially with full colour centre caps), nice dish at the rear and very BBS like.
Find the mission E wheels absolutely hateful personally, like a bad set of aftermarket TSW alloys from the 1990's.
All utterly subjective of course.

They look great there! I am over thinking it!Find the mission E wheels absolutely hateful personally, like a bad set of aftermarket TSW alloys from the 1990's.

Yes - that helped! It was just a bit of shock to see that they were solid painted black bits where I expected sexy spoke and fresh air. Looking at that shot may be overthinking too. Prefer the spoke pattern on the others but that fake inner 'brake disk' on them that masks the real one is odd. It must be all about aero?
Diamond cut painted black and lacquered bare metal mix is a pain in the rse though. Just refurbing the Macan wheels x 4 again after 3 years as the lacquer is lifting on the lacquer only joins. Ridiculous and costly. Ohh and its Porsche centre caps annually too as they lose their lacquer all around the edges too.

Have you tried any of the wheel sealant products available to help with that? Diamond cut painted black and lacquered bare metal mix is a pain in the rse though. Had a set of these on a previous Audi and after 2 years and nearly 50k miles they were still in perfect condition (including the centre caps). Used Collinite 845 https://www.detailedclean.co.uk/wax/collinite-845-...

TBH I have that Colinite but not the time to use it on the DD. I never use any harsh acidic wheel cleaners either. They should do better.Had a set of these on a previous Audi and after 2 years and nearly 50k miles they were still in perfect condition (including the centre caps). Same story with the Porsche black tailpipes. Chocolate and get replaced annually.

All completely personal of course, but this would be my spec for the same budget.http://www.porsche-code.com/PML6C5I0

Is there a way to spec so the that wheel arches and other bits of external trim are body coloured?
Cheers
Not with the CT no, although of course if you go for black paint they're a lot less noticeable.Cheers

Do you think there will be a "straight" Sport Turismo version - I'm not really into the Crossover thing......
I think there might well be but asking dealer and searching online its likely a while away. The 'crossover' thing may be useful for me at times given the work I do but its a bit tokenistic really and none of the 200 YouTube videos I've watched a few times suggest it has any impact on handling! I also checked the stance in the showroom in its lowered setting and it sits very nicely.
If you get the 'offroad kit' - some extra plastic bits on the corners - then it will default to 20mm higher than a car without it in standard ride height. I don't know if it is 20mm higher in its lowest setting too.

Just had the call from Silverstone that our has gone in to pre-production.
Still on track for the revised delivery date of end of August/1st week in Sept (originally due end of July)
OPC Wolves spoke to me a few weeks back and that is pretty much the position for my own car.Still on track for the revised delivery date of end of August/1st week in Sept (originally due end of July)
It's a bit of a shame, but at the same time:
- First world problems.
- At least, from others on here, I know it's not simply case of them messing me around personally or having fudged-up my order. Plenty of us in the same situation.
- Still very much looking forward to getting the car - don;t think about it too much TBF but when I do, it is an enticing prospect.
