That looks like it is 987.1 only. Not compatible with 987.2

Depends on what you really want. All i need is bluetooth and digital radio, wireless CarPlay would be lovely but it’s not that big a deal when i can just plug the phone in.

These units have proved very popular in the 9x6 despite not being as functionally rich, and the used market seems to value them when fitted.

well, i'd at least want something to not be out of date even before its even purchased. It is so behind the technology curve that one wonders what was the point of it.

Apples and Oranges with the 996 as that car is a dinosaur tech wise. you say very popular but I have read many threads of disappointment which act as a temperature check on just how popular it really is.
Used market will favour anything that helps a 996 not be a bag of spanners.
