The CGT is hands down the most exhilarating car I've driven, totally immersive. The KW dampers have added a layer of sophistication and modernity to the damping, coupled with axle lift that I use it even more. With a set of Cup2 tyres and a good geometry and plenty of front negative camber it's staggering how hard you can lean on in.

I did 9700 miles in 2022, and would have liked to have done even more! Hopefully this year it will be into the 60 thousand miles. Hope to pass 100k miles somewhere around 2028!

That’s pretty impressive - I think I only added about 4k km to my Porsches in 2022 - shocking really, esp as half of that was driving down to Cannes and back on the highway only, so not exactly the most exhilarating driving … need to drive them more in 2023 / schedule a few weekend driving trips in the alps

A good question is what have you moved onto.
One of the most exhilarating for me,and probably the most dangerous fire box,230bhp and 600kg

Yes, yes and yes.
Ah… that was Alex’s race car - yes it’s a good job you did sell it because that became this

And allows me to say that I spanked the Stig(s) at Silverstone in the dark!

Wait - that sounds wrong… I mean in a race car
Fact Checked update - The yellow car here wasnt the donor for the orange car - diff yellow car - the one here ran alongside the orange car for a season maybe 2? - when Ade S and Paul F set up a mini racing team together...

Either way - special car and no, you shouldn't have sold it

Thanks. Mine was much quicker. Obviously smile

Although a bit tail happy which I never got around to dialling out - suspect rear ARB was too stiff for my style and my local track (Castle Combe). It spat me off twice on the (slight) bump at Camp Corner - nasty place to lose it if you don't catch the car cleanly as the pit wall beckons. I was a wimp and let it take me into the infield. Bad for my pride, but good for the bodywork.

You should have kept that one …
Maybe, ignoring the monetary gain though, not sure I'd have driven it much with the CGT TBH. Fabulous thing and some great memories with Yellow, Pete and various other reprobatessmile

Remember picking it up from the Porsche dealer in Aachen and being on the limiter in 6th not too long afterwards.
fair point. I regret not buying a CGT in 2015. I don't care about the value gain per se, just the fact that now I will likely never be able to own one [would have never sold it, regardless of value]. Was my favorite car from the moment it was launched and the market just got away from me.
I'd happily own a 993 GT copy, but I would probably kill myself ...

Sold this 997 Turbo in April 2020, i’d managed to secure a new 718 Spyder and couldn’t have both. Six months later i’d sold the Spyder and tried to get the Turbo back (well i message the guy and just asked how he was etc. and laid a seed, which he didn’t bite).

I’m trying to buy another one now, but every one i look at just doesn’t compare. It just had the combo of Slate Grey paint, two-tone interior and all the best options. There are probably loads out there that are just as nice, but it was my baby and i’d spent some money on her. She was faultless.

1966 porsche 906,irish green from factory had a lot of fun in it,but family pressure made me sell it for the 2.8rsr as a lot safer to race/drive.If you crashed you either died, badly burnt or no legs leftsmileThe pic i think is from 2008 classic lemans where we came 4th in grid 5,clocked at 158 through the speed trap at night, the front would start to rise alarmingly at this speed with very light steering. They would also vibrate them selves apart with high maintenance, the first porsche to be designed with a wind tunnel, very pretty car.

One of our early rs track days at oulton,a lot of cars that im sure owners now regret moving on,including my factory vip 993 supercup.
You dont see this many current rs and gt3 on track today.

Our 10th anniversary of the rs track day, well supported and well used cars/owners.

Yes, I'd have it back in a heartbeat. I was using it as a daily and it needed somewhere to keep it in - I now have a garage....

That's not J120 UPB* by any chance?

  • Altered as you have blanked your plate but close enough to recognise if it is the same car wink

This one for some unknown reason really got under my skin and would have back in a heartbeat, despite owning this one now which is even better by every metric IMO

Where do I start… regret selling the following as I loved them.

997.1 GT3 that I bought new
997.2 GT3 in Guards Red that I bought new
996 GT3 RS, still the daddy

Financially I regret selling…

992.1 GT3 RS
996 RS

Both bought and sold for what I paid for them, now both worth triple what I paid!

Sadly no pics to hand...

3.2 - totally antique and not much fun. Sold at a small profit but worth far more now

944T.2 - fantastic car for the time and fun. Moved onto 964. P/X for a fifth of its value today

964 Celebration - antique but fun. Now worth ten times what I sold it for

993C4S - boring as a very boring then. Now worth lots more than I sold it for

996GT3.1 - Zanzibar. Great car sold as I needed the cash. Sold by the dealer for +£16k the next week, now worth at least twice what I sold it for
