Not sold on this:
Is that 1970s Porsche colour Magenta or just a bad picture of Rubystone or something else?

“Paint To Sample” Guards Red. You may think I jest but on the 991.1RS that’s what it took and even now they’ve classified it an “historic colour” or some such and you’ll pay for it.

^^^ yep only Porsche could get away with pts Guards red option cost on the 991.1 gt3rs .

Which incidentally is identical to standard free Guards red.

All of these colours are vile, particularly the Mint Green and Sapia. But I always thought I was alone, Ive rarely seen a PTS choice that made me think "yes!, thats the colour Id choose". I was always confused as to why someone would pay for the privilege of applying an awful colour!
PTS stone grey metallic - lovely colour

OK, I'll bite

PTS Gulf Blue

Cost option? Piss take. Colour choice? Lovely. But I'm biased.

It ain’t free no more-go spec a GT car on the configurator these days.

Olive green for the win “make it look like a cheap respray for a gumball rally type event” look.

Fixed. My goodness that doesn’t suit the 996 shape!

IMO this is brilliant - not an "unfortunate" choice. I may be biased

Ooh, what was I spec’in the other week where it had moved onto their “heritage colour” scheme or whatever they call it now?

I wonder if it was a website mistake or maybe the ST?

Highlights to me how some cars are colour sensitive.

I think the Gulf Blue looks great but seeing it on the Cayenne it just looks odd.

PTS is certainly interesting and it is great that we all like different things it would be boring if we all specced the same silver black or grey cars being a prime (Arctic grey....ok not pts only ££2500 extra on a 4RS e.g....primer paint anyone biggrinsmile example.

Yes no doubt it is fantastic to see particularly interesting cars on the road in interestingly different colours e.g. the other day a couple of Performantes went past in yellow and bright green...looked brilliant and certainly raised a smile.

All very well for folks to bravely post 'I love this colour I love that weird colour' blah blah etc etc and yes good to see these colours are available in the first place seeing them out and about....... BUT would they spec these colours on a new car of their own paying c£8.5k and more for the privilege and most undoubtedly the answer would be a resounding no. biggrin:
