The older guards red was quite orange, but over the years its become a much redder colour, and there are 3 shades of guards red(India red)all on the same paintcode. The later guards red is a very red colour with far less orange.put a pic up to show what the later shade looks like straight out of the gun
Has that car found an owner who wants to own/drive it yet, rather than try to profit from it? blade7 said:

Has that car found an owner who wants to own/drive it yet, rather than try to profit from it? I missed the sale but saw the aftermath. Id have snapped the original vendors hand off at the price that he eventually took for it and I wouldnt have sold it - its even got decently implemented GTS-style sliding windows! Assuming that Im not mixing members there and here up, I believe that the vendor was a painter too, so itll be well finished.

This was after this car had been sold at a discounted price to someone who, I think, immediately started advertising it at an inflated price.
There was a turbo S advertised by an old fella 3 or 4 years back for peanuts, I believe on the understanding whoever bought it was to keep and restore it and not break or sell it on, a forum regular bought it and had it back up for plenty more in no time .GC8 said:
I realise that. My point was that Id have paid the original sale price and been happy with it.
It was just one of those things, and maybe the time was just not right to sell,it made good money a little while later and I really wish I had not sold it but at the time I needed to release funds for my other projects.Yes, they were an option up to and including the 1986 model year. Series one cars and 1986 model year series twos used a nominal 23mm offset wheel (7"). 1987 model year onwards cars, including all 944Ss used a 52.3mm offset wheel.
7" ET23 wheels will fit a later offset car, but only just and they dont really look right. I can post a photograph if you like, which clearly shows this.
