Thanks in advance.

Yes - I used one for the first time at Oulton this past weekend. It's quite good, and it does relieve your upper body from having to do a lot of the supporting (against the steering wheel). Clearly it's not as good as a 4/6 point harness, but if you don't have a rollcage to attach a harness to, then it's probably the next best thing.

If the car is used mainly on the track but you don't want a cage, you could always go for a harness bar, they attach to the seatbelt mounting points and can be removed fairly easily.

NOTE: if it's not obvious already, the bar on the link is a GUIDE bar (harness passes through the bar , acts as a guide only). BK also sell harness MOUNT bars (that you actually attach the harness to).

Think Ted did a review of the CG Lock a while back.

{eta:} Can't find it now, but I think PH'er Agent006 uses one.

Yes I've got one. Use it in my road car () as the seats are the sliding-everywhere variety. Will eventually use it in track day car though.

It does make quite a difference, but it does not work quite as nicely as it should if you have a doubling-back seatbelt buckle, which was not explained to me when I bought it at the historic motorsport show.

Check this page:
www.cg-lock.co.uk/install.htm

to see if it will fit on your car - my Mercedes has a multi-pass belt so it doesn't work as nicely as it should (it's a bit annoying as it won't attach to the buckle) but still works.

Otherwise, it does feel nicer because you can chuck the car around a lot more and feel what it is doing, because you're not sliding around in the seat or holding on to the steering wheel. I didn't realise how much I did this until I drove with the CG lock - however like I say I do have a roly poly Mercedes with flat seats so.....

I'm 150 miles from my RS. Does anyone know if 993 have single pass seat belt buckle?

I've been using it on my 993 C2 for a while, fantastic bit of kit, and very simple. It's not as good as a full harness of course but it's the next best thing. You can feel the car more with your bum.

DaveyS2,

If Roy doesn't want it how much would you be looking for it? I've been looking at them for a little while and as a student I'm always trying to save a bit of money
