It says the insurance payout will be about £60K. Surely that will be just for the silver 993 on its own.

At least the chap has the presence of mind to hang up his driving gloves - it's just a shame there needed to be an accident to prompt it.

By the time they've written the cheque it will be £70k, no doubt.

pah - the 993 will be unscathed and indeed unscratched; only the weak rear window (glass probably not German?) will need to be replaced. hehe

I realised that this had made some of the local papers but not the mail. What an over exaggerated pile of crap furious.

Mine is the silver 993 and with the exception of some cosmetic work to the rear wing a new rear screen and engine cover that's just about it. Hardly what you'd call extensive repairs (god bless german pig iron smile)

I talked to the body shop guy this afternoon, and the only reason the 964 has been written off is because the price of the new parts for the convertible roof.

The total of £60k is also taking into account the damaged gates, the whole in the wall where the 964 was pushed through (the wall had also cracked from top to bottom in 3 places), and the mini camper van he hit outside the gate (this is probably going to be written off too).

As for Dave not caring about the cars, that's utter rubbish too. He was absolutely gutted when i arrived and was incredibly apologetic. He explained everything that had happened (which i admit was quite an unbelievable story) and assured me he would sort everything out. I had a courtesy car provided by his insurance in less than 24 hours and he has continually kept me up to date.

Please excuse my obvious annoyance but in my opinion this has not been reported well.

Happy days,

FG
