What a chimney though - all that architecture and ornament to put smoke into the air. Puts most modern industrial structures to shame.

did anyone ever see him fell that chimney using fire, astonishing, waited till the last minute before legging it to see which way it was going to drop. absolute balls of steel.

i always liked fred.
it takes a special type of man to do that job. some of the overhangs on the climbs where mental.

his older films are the best before all the health and safety malarkey.

I remember watching his programmes when they were first broadcast and just being concerned with the heights etc.

Looking at them today with a modern 'health and safety' head on it's truly amazing! No harness, no safety nets, just bits of string and great big heavy wooden ladders!
