Couldn't agree with you more, the 18 ways best seats I have had in a car, I went from a 2007 X5 to my Cayenne in 2012, world apart the Cayenne makes the X5 feel agricultural. I love the buttons like anything you get used to them

Love your car. May be a bit unfair to compare a 2007 X5 to a 2012 Porsche? Cars can evolve a lot in 5 years.

Well, it's finally that time folks. The Cayenne very sadly needs to go cry The Mrs wanted a larger car (she's now in the family wagon) so I need to get rid of the Pork. Has been an amazing couple of years - drive, reliability and dealership experience all being top notch.

Tricky thing now is to how to sell it. With 138k on the clock and despite it having the extended Porsche warranty till December this year I think the market could be very limited and the price not brilliant. Thoughts?

I'm pretty sure the Porsche extended warranty only covers the vehicle upto 125k miles? Try Webuyanycar first

The limit is only at the time of purchasing one! While you are under warranty it's unlimited (had the OPC check this specifically before extending it). Sorted smile

The WBAC folk were a little funny - they knocked it down a 3k(!) due to the mileage (even though I had entered it originally) and stone chips on the front nose. Nothing major at all I hasten to add - usual road rash. I'm sure even an OPC wouldn't charge that much for a respray! Other WBAC type folk weren't as critical so may end up going to them. Otherwise it's good ole Autotrader and the grief that brings...

OK so one or two silly things did go a little wry - the wiper motor and rear tailgate. The latter was squeaking so they replaced the struts. Neither was a pain in my view. It's a 2010 958 3.0 diesel. Hasn't used oil, or have any leaks or knocks, etc.

Apologies - I meant she wanted to change her old car for something larger (she had a B class Mercedes). So went for a Lexus RX450.

No need to apologise...I was just surprised at the need for something larger than a Cayenne. Although , of course, it isn't a seven seater which a lot of people want/need.

That's good to know re mileage - thanks. Mine is on 94k and recently extended warranty for a further 2 yrs. Was thinking this will just about take me to 125k but good to know can possibly extend further if haven't hit 125k by renewal time.

I'd just price it to sell on Autotrader and here

@Phooey - One thing that you may want to do is keep extending. My OPC said I can keep extending at any time - i.e. you didn't need to wait for the end of the current warranty. You would however need to pay for the 111point check each time though.

Well it's now on Autotrader. Been a few days and not even a bite. It's the cheapest new shape. I *think* I have priced it OK - taking into WBAC/near by dealers, etc. Or do I have to accept that everyone private wants it at the WBAC price?? Even though it has full history and the warranty!

The real annoyance is that I've seen a car I want and ready to move on it but only as soon as I sell this one.

Let me know what you folk think please.

Just my thoughts the mileage being as high is probably making some people nervous, even with a warranty, there is always someone out there, you may need to be a little patient.

Not seen the ad, but make sure images are good with as much details as you can, the rest is all about patience

Like you say Saj I guess I must be patient and hope I can find myself a car when I do sell.

All looks fine, but I would have put the 21" Turbo wheels on.

There is always another car out there

Good luck

Well folks the Cayenne went...and the really good news part is that it went for the asking price! After a few days of no calls the phone became like a hot line! Had to filter out the usual "what's your best price bruv" and quite frankly the dreamers but on the whole all good. Amazingly I reckon it was the Turbo 2 wheels that clinched the deal. So if you are speccing make sure you spec similar smile

It had been an amazing couple of years. By FAR the best car I have ever had. In particular the dealership service experience (Porsche Leicester) had been fantastic with nothing too much of a problem. Overall costs of ownership too have been stunning. In fact, if I could afford another one I would have one in a heart beat. Perhaps one day...

Anyway, thanks for all the help/insight/banter of general ownership. Loved it. Drive safe everyone and hope your ownership is just as fantastic as mine. Will keep reading the postings and look forward to hearing about the folk who take delivery of the 'all new' one when it arrives.

Well the OPC underwhelmed again on the recent major service... Shouldn't you have done the air filters ? No, don't think so... Oh yes, you'll have to bring it back. Twunts.

Filters are the same on the V8 as the V6 diesel, except there are two of them. I bought some K & Ns from Amazon. Chnage filters was a 20 minute job, and that included making a cup of tea.

The state of one of the original filters after 70K miles, and the new K & Ns;

Pop the covers off, 1/4 turn screw to remove the air pipe from the air box, one either side;

Near side in place, before refitting the airbox lid, whilst waiting for the kettle to boil;

Cheaper solution than back to the OPC. They still stamped the book. No noticeable difference in performance, no induction noise either.

While I'm updating the thread, some distracted girl pulled out in front of me a few weeks ago.... No airbags, but made a mess of the A pillar of her A1. Couldn't get her driver's door open. Damaged the Cayenne's front PU and pushed the OSF wing up slightly, they've accepted liability. Just comparing part numbers of the Turbo/GTS PU and diesel one.. They're the same price. I'll see if I can get a better looking front end....

Here's a frame from the dashcam, just after the moneyshot;

Sorry to hear this. Glad all were OK though. It's amazing they didn't spot you! Did you have to use the dashcam in proving things?

If you are going through insurance would they not force you to go back to original rather than anything else?

She just pulled right out ! Nowhere for me to go apart from into her side. Insurer (Tesco) admitted liability and offered their 'approved repairer'. I found my own. Lots of petty squabbles over damage to my OSF wheel caught by her wing and whole front of my car is clear wrapped, and has been from new. They initially denied it was wrapped as their engineer didn't spot it, then only wanted to re-wrap bumper and OSF wing. Wrapper said it wouldn't match new to old, so I said I'd seek to recover cost of new wheel and wrapping direct from their insured. I am getting a GTS/Turbo PU fitted, some additional cost for me in terms of bits of plastic required, core bits, PU, bumper bar, both indicator/driving lamps, grilles were damaged, and cost is the same.

So Chaps

Some images of the 2018 Cayenne, leaking through, anyone got deposits down, I ask as I wanted to pay a deposit at my local dealer but was told they are unable to accept orders at this stage.

My car has hit 5 years of pleasurable and reliable motoring, want to change soon, so new Cayenne make sense for me
