I am a bit bored with the interior of the car and wanted to get some aluminium parts fitted, handbrake, gearknob etc.
I asked at the OPC here in glasgow and was told it may be about £700 for the brake and knob!!

Does anyone know if these type of parts are available aftermarket, and, vitally are they easy to fit yourself without destroying the car?

Thanks guys

John,

have a look in Porker and 911 World, there's a couple of places that advertise ('Type 911' is one off the top of my head) that sort of thing in there. I'd have budgeted more like £100. I'm asuming they're dead easy to fit.

Be carefull of some of the aluminium look parts that are sold. All these guys do are spraying the normal black ones then charge us lots of cash!!!!If you know a good sprayer remove them your self and ask him to do it,you could even buy silver spray airosol can and do it in your garage. Save yourself a fortune and not get ripped off!!!
Hope that gives you good advise!

we could design and manufacture parts for you if there was enough interest.

IIRC the Aluminium gearknob and handbrake are about £300 on a new car (check the Porsche website). Do you think that they wanted £400 to fit them?
