Does anyone know if there is some sort of cover available for the roof panel? as every time I put the roof in, or out of the boot i'm worried about scratching it.

Yes, there is a cover available. Nick at Walldonway has had some made, as he was having the same problem. I have got one and its works well, I no longer fear placing the panel in the boot. I'm sure if you give him a call he could help you.

Do you not find that the procedure of trying to stuff panels into bags (as in the case of the rear screen), is trickier and more likely to result in damage, than putting them straight in the boot.

Not with the way the cover has been designed. it opens on two sides and is very simple to place the panel inside. nothing like the hassle of the griffith panel bag. if was like that I can see your point.
