Gaz Gold Pros or Pro Techs

To be honest there's nothing physically wrong with my shocks, but would like some added confidence to push the car on some track days this year without unpredictable handling.
Like Robert says I think their has to be some cost benefit or value equation too. Taking that into consideration and the fact absolutely shocks will do me a good price I'm going to go for the Gaz Gold pro's. Did consider the racing reds but can't really find much in the way of review online.
It's funny - a few years ago the Hants TVRCC went to Fernie's for an 'open-day' and the consensus by the guys there was that they were only fitting R-Reds at that point in time.Like Robert says I think their has to be some cost benefit or value equation too. Taking that into consideration and the fact absolutely shocks will do me a good price I'm going to go for the Gaz Gold pro's. However, I've had GGPro's on my last two TVRs and been very happy. OK, my last car, a Chim, had a set of the 'squealers', but these were replaced by return of post and absolutely no quibbles. I think the after-sales is superb.

My Tusc had Gaz Golds when I got it. Handling was awful.
I replaced them with Racing Reds and it was transformed.
I woldn't touch the GGs on A Tuscan with a bargepole.

No doubt the GG's were set up wrong in the first place and the RR's were set up correctly by the supplier.I replaced them with Racing Reds and it was transformed.

7TVR had GG's fitted to his grief that he thought were poor, we spent an hour setting up on track and it was a different car, (his words).

Hi Matti, just looked on their website and the pro's as you say look good value, have you managed to negotiate a better than advertised price? Cheers Andrew
Hi Andrew, slightly better price than on the web. Derrick of abs shocks said he'd match an ebay price, and provide me with all the setup guidance I need... which I thought was a good deal. He has loads of experience with these cars so knows a thing or two about set ups. Will be ordering next week once I'm back at work.
Hi guys!
I've GGP on my T350t rr by 3 months, but they are too soft for me. 11 clicks front - 15 back. Mine should have a total of 20 clicks, right?
I've heard many GGP are defective, how can i understand if mine works fine??
Thanks to all! Max from Italy (the only italian t350 owner, i think)

Well I got them set up as well as possibly by a suspension expert, it was him that told me the Gaz Golds were awful.
He then set up the RRs (which he didn't sell me, before you suspect!) and they were far better.

Pays your money and makes your choice, If you think something is not that good, your unlikely to change your mind. I am very pleased with my GGP. Good on the road and fine on track, though I dont have any before or after experience for the later.
Go and see the factory in Essex and see how they are made and tested. Derek will fit them while you wait, let them settle for a couple of hundred miles, and then get it properly set-up. Happy days!

Me thinks he's wrong and we can banter this all day long, no offence but it's all down to the setup.
correct. Once iv fitted them I'll be taking a day off to go with Dereck to have the geometry and corner weighting done at the same place they set up the club msv cars. I have every confidence the car will be spot on, they have plenty of experience doing this.maxsupertramp said:
Thanks to all for your quick answer and interest! Now i have 13 clicks front and 17 back (quite danger for spin on a TVR )... But now on bumpy roads the back absorbers don't go at the end of stroke! The car is more stable at high speed.
Are you saying you are running stiffer on the back .Sorry for being dumb, do we have any conclusion here? Some say GGP's are good enough for the price you pay. I just read the "warning to all GG's" thread in the General TVR stuff. They have listed out some horrific stories there. I am planning to upgrade them this summer. Any steer would be good (literally).
