Noticed clutch pedal is dropping slightly under acceleration, to the point that sometimes i have to depress the pedal twice to build enough pressure to shift gear cleanly.

Doesn't happen every time though, but seems to be getting more frequent.

Took car for a drive this morning and was paying extra attention to the clutch pedal, it could also be rising slightly when i shut off although not as obvious as the other way.

Have checked fluid level and its fine, no visible fluid under bell housing so don't suspect the slave.

Also doesn't appear to be any end float on crank, have pressed clutch repeatedly whilst stationary and watched front pulley for movement, there is none.

Am thinking of swapping master cylinder just to rule it out, but if that doesn't cure it then i guess i will be dropping the box.

Wondered if anyone had experienced similar or has any ideas?

Be interested to hear what the more knowledgeable think?

My first pass would be master cylinder? Have you checked pedal box for dampness on 'floor' plate?

No leakage from master cylinder, but in the past have had them passing internally.......just can't get my head round why accelerating would cause pedal to drop, A new master cylinder is only about £40 so I'm going to order one and see if it has any bearing.

I am not more knowledgable, but on some cars i have known, the engine visibly twists on its mountings when you accelerate. Could this be causing your clutch pedal movement in some way? Could your engine mountings be past their use by date?

Your the second person to suggest engine mounts, someone on the FB Tuscan page also said the same.....Tuscan left hand mounts do have a propensity to fail due to exhaust heat. Was going to have a look today but decorating got in the way.......

Fitted a new master cylinder, clutch now working fine......Must have been passing internally.
