Tad concerned! Had my Tuscan 10 years now and no major issues! Parked it today and noticed what looks like slight damage to my bonnet just in front of windscreen. It's not bad it just looks a bit distressed and misshapen. Initially I just presumed something has fallen on it. No damage to paintwork. I put my hand on it and it's absolutely roasting! Rest of bonnet is cool but an area about the size of a dinner plate is at melting point. I had only driven the car for about 10 mins so wouldn't expect it to be that hot. Anyone had this before and How worried should I be!! Will run the car to work tomorrow and see if it happens again. Cheers guys.

any one had ceramic coating done? should rust come through after 450 miles? and its still hot as ever?
Yes and no. Where did you get the ceramic coating done? I had mine coated at Zircotec after researching. The process they use at Zircotec is different to most ceramic coaters in that they “plasma coat” as opposed to spray and bake I believe that others do. It is considerably more expensive but it lasts and keeps (at least mine anyway) under bonnet temperature down.
No real difference in performance between the two coating systems I can detect, I have both. Heat proof to the U/S of the bonnet is worth a thought if not fitted already, Thermal Velocity in Manchester seem OK to deal with, and they answer the phone.
Engine problems, either lean due to lambda closed loop issues or blocked cat or can. Bits of catalytic converter can end up in the exhaust system and cause no end of damage and problems, both tail pipes should puff rhythmically and feel the same when you put your palm to them, though don’t take this as a total health check.
Seen quite a few Tuscans with heat rash in this location on the bonnet sadly.
