roof cable snapped. How to proceed

One roofcable snapped the other looks also bad. Removed the 2 screws (behind the indicaterlamps) in the roll bar. But no movement at all. What is the best way to lower the Roll bar cover? It seems to be that it is easy to damage the PVC leather. Where do I begin? Is there a screw behing the interiorlight or the 3 brakelight? (2003 MK1)

Yes, i notice the pics. Not clear how far i have remove the pvc of the roll bar and where to start the best way.
