Previous plates - L454 AGV, L9 SAP, X78 BTT

Trying to get history on this car, being sold in Rep of Ireland but the history is poor. Guy selling is a dealer and a nice chap and he was un aware of the history.

Car being sold for £24,000 -

Anyone know much about it? would like to speak to previous owners if possible,

I now know it had a rebuild in 2008 MAy 16th by Dom@Power 7749 miles, but in 2006 july 27th on line DVLA records show 8521 miles?

only 9850 miles on the clock now.

Irish NCT (MOT) - 9157 MILES IN 2009 - Its been off the road pretty much in the last 10 years.

Would you still buy it knowing now it’s a CAT D in (2003)

And the mileage is not accurate?

DVLA June 2006 - 8500 circa
Power rebuild May 2008 - 7749

Clocks going backwards / ?!?!??
Raises to much concern both on mileage and damage in my opinion - I guess if I was going to keep it forever then that’s fine!

But is it actually now worth £24,000 - now we know it’s a cat D and mileage could be anything!

Rebuild 10 years ago - I guess potential issue that it’s only done 2,000 miles in 10 years and roughly 800 of them since 2009

It seems a lot of money for a cat d, as you say the mileage could be problem to verify, there are plenty more for sale, so walk away.
Did the trader tell you it’s a Cat d or did you have to find out yourself

Yep I agree, plenty more on the market and plenty more to come I reckon in the near future

No the trader had no idea with the mileage discrepancies and no idea about the CAT D..

I have let the trader know and he said he would let prospect buyers know the history of the car.

Just a comment, do not knock cat C or D cars too much. The repaired version can be better than the original if rare handmade models.

I've had a few cat D cars in the past and they were good. Just depends on the quality of the repair
especially for rarer cars. You can always get the cat flag removed with an appropriate inspection.

I had no idea you could reverse the CAT on vehicles..

Does that go completely so buyers are un aware of the CAT or does a document support that it has been reversed but the car still shows as a CAT on HPI?

The Cat marker can be removed but it will then be marked as 'condition inspected' Seems a bit pointless to me. https://www.autolign.co.uk/

I have just sold my car which was Cat C&D. I spent thousands on it with 2 engine rebuilds, respray, new interior, Nitrons etc etc. If the repairs are done well, Id say the price is about right.

i'd say it was a bit pricey for a cat D

similar priced ones without the cat status for that money with history on the market

Yep, i agree!

he has now reduced it by £2000?!?!?!?!

Would of thought its worth a lot less, now knowing the mileage is not accurate and it's a CAT D"....

anyway he's trying to maximise his return on it so i get it, but i i wish he would change the advert with what he knows now!

he did say that whilst selling it in R.Ireland it wouldnt show up on there records that it had been damaged she they would not know -... (i dont think thats the point, do you!!!!!!!) - I'm sure he would tell the future buyer, seemd a good enough chap!

Even at £22k i'd say it was too much (IMO)

there's a nice white one at Amore autos
