Some inventive modifications there, good to follow to see people’s ideas.

What is the coating on the throttle bodies? I’m thinking of a heat resistant coating to keep the air as cold as possible and doing the bush mod. I’ve read somewhere that the step on the lip from air box to throttle body has been machined shallower too to improve airflow, but I’ve never seen this in person.

Thanks, the TBs, fuel rail and cam cover are painted with VHT ANODIZED PURPLE spray. It's good but if i was doing it again I think i would use cerakote for extra toughness.

Ah! I have done mine in VHT satin black, but it hasn’t adhered! I think I did everything right and used the primer, but it’s chipping away very easily. Yours look much better finish than mine. Think I’ll get them blasted and start again.

Thanks spartridge, I'm very happy with the LED headlights so far, tested them out of the garage across the drive and was very impressed, nice flat beam at the top and easy to adjust up/down with the built-in screw, and fairly straight forward to fit. I've not driven it at night, just to the MOT station in the daylight back in the spring, and they passed the MOT.

When I've tested them properly I'll do a write-up.

I used the VHT base coat and did mine during the hot summer and left in the sun so it's adhered ok, but, it's not as hard wearing as i'd like for an engine bay. Cerakote is the way to go for this kind of stuff I think, I just need to blow the dust off the spray gun...

I'm just dying to get out in the thing...

PPF for protection, hard top and glass rear window for security, heated seats and chassis protection for winter use ... and I'd need a quieter exhaust to keep the neighbors happy cry

Overall, nothing will be upgraded, its too perfect as it is for those odd occasions I do get a chance to use it properly! Really I just need more time...

So, I've managed to get the new fuel pump set-up completed and TBs balanced...

Last time the engine was running back in the spring it failed it's MOT on high lambda, thought to be because of air leaks, either exhaust or on the intake side.

So, I took the exhausts off and fettled all the slip joints, which were obviously leaking and then removed the throttle bodies/fuel rail and injectors.

Over the summer I've stripped the TBs, cleaned and painted the bodies, re-plated the mechanisms. The spindles were nice and snug in the bodies so just rebuilt them with PTFE washers (in place of the felt washers from the factory) between the bodies and the lever/arms to help form a nice seal. Used new super low profile stainless screws to hold the flap to the spindle (with Loctite). Used new stainless springs and for balancing I fitted stainless thumb screws to help make balancing alot easier...

Fitted the new Wabash 971 TP Sensors...(see my post in the speed six forum)

Re-fitted with my PTFE gaskets for a perfect seal and reduced heat transfer...

New Bosch injectors

New stainless fuel pressure regulator

And finally got everything up and running and throttle bodies balanced. Idle set to 850rpm and sounds alooot smoother than before...

Now I just need to get everything back together and take for its MOT again biggrin

Oh, and the new fuel pump is so quiet compared with the Bosch 044 copy I fitted previously, you can no longer hear it above the engine which was the main reason I changed it out...
