Hi Guys,
My brother has got a Rover 200. Recently, he went to drive it and discovered that the key fob was malfunctioning and he struggled to get in. Eventually, he used the key to get in the car, but he then had to open the bonnet and disconnect the alarm siren before the neighbours had a fit! He took the fob to pieces and cleaned the components with switch cleaner and it seems to work OK, but he is a bit concerned that it will let him down again. Consequently, he has bought a secondhand fob from eBay and is wanting to recode it. Does anyone on here know how to do it? If you could let me know I would be grateful. All positive responses gratefully received.

First question - how old is the car? Is the fob round or more of a square/rectangular shape? As this will dictate which type of security system the car has.
