I HAVE JUST HEARD NEWS TODAY (WHERE HAVE I been ?) that is beneficial to all UKs motorists.
A petition has been started because Owen Mc---------- is demanding that the Government should
enforce cyclists to obtain insurance cover No more no less. This is a benefit to drivers who are the subject of reduced
rights as in many counties in the UK.
This petition brought by 'CHANGE .org' a free petition website has been signed by more than 37 000 individuals in
approximately two weeks.
Although this petition has not been heralded by a fanfare of trumpets it will gain credibility if the majority of the UKs'
33 million drivers see it for what it is ---for their benefit and for that of equality.
As usual a lot of flak has been directed towards the petitioner by cyclists who show their ignorance and dislike for the
petitioner and the suggestion they should be made to have insurance cover. Cycling is dangerous but many cyclists do not
think it is dangerous at all. Even golfers I'm told have to have third party liability as do many other sports that involve
the possibility of accidents happening.

One item of the learning curve of life that will ensue is that the irresponsible riders will have much to pay
which is entirely justifiable. Those safe riders on the other hand will get a discount on their insurance cover so as well
as saving the planet they will be able to give themselves a pat on the back as do us drivers when we do not have
accidents and do not ever drive into or over anyone!

You'd get more responses if you didn't shout and have a dim witted unrelated and vague thread title.

Jus sayin'

I understand £9,855,000,000 is paid out annually in motor insurance claims, what is the total annual cost of damage caused by cyclists?

None of my motoring dreams involve cycling or insurance.

None of my cycling dreams involve motoring or insurance.

Should I seek help?

£9,855,000,000.37. Don't forget the 37p. Very important, that 37p.

Many cyclists do in fact have insurance so here again the OP is just wrong! For instance, racing cyclists or members of the British Cycling Federation, Cyclists Touring Club and other groups will have some of insurance already.

I think the issue is more around identifying who is truly at fault and who the cyclists actually are.

for instance, was it not last week that one of the government ministers was being lambasting for opening his taxi door (on the left, by the pavement, when the taxi was stopped) as a cyclist had decided it would be a good idea to cycle down the inside gap between the taxi and the kerb. Doh! A little common sense from the cyclist would have said that was maybe a bad idea???

I'm a motorist and a cyclist, so not really in one camp or the other, actually in both camps and I see just as many cyclists do inconsiderate, stupid, stty, selfish things as i do motorists. The difference is cyclists hate being told they were wrong. End of.

third party insurance should be optional for motorists

forcing people to have insurance is stupid

if you find the risks of life unacceptable insure yourself

What kind of idiot would open car door outside westminster without looking , its "tripple" red line around there . I really dont blame the cyclist at all. Yet another politician who thinks rules dont apply to him

Anyway - back to watches.

I dive and my fave is a Rolex Sub. Ace.

Not quite a cool as my 400SE. Ace.

On track I get 3mpg. Ace.

Time for a glass of vino...
