I have seen a test 4 door and 5 door version down my road in recent weeks. It does look very much like a budget Far East brand. Each itineration of the Focus seems to get worse. I like the shape of my 3 door 08 plate ST. The current 5 door looks bland in comparison. This new model (although I haven't seen the ST) does not look as appealing as the current model, from the ones I have seen in the flesh.

What has happened to their styling department, have they just given up?

Petrol only available in EcoBoost engine though?

While dark cloud over that engine is it worth risking it?

Ecoboost is a marketing term. It is a "brand" applied to a number of different lines of engines and all that they have in common are that they are petrol and turbo charged.

The families are Fox, Dragon, Sigma, Mazda L, Nano and Cyclone. They range from a 1l 3-cyl to a 3.5l v6.

Your experience while obviously bad enough personally to dedicate a name too is nothing in the grand scheme of things. Not enough fail to cast a "dark cloud over that engine" let alone the brand.

Whilst I sympathise to a certain extent, perhaps try and look at objectively rather than emotionally?
