RE: New fuel discount scheme launches
Discussion
The idea is great but the facts behind it are weak. Having dealt with Ben Scammell in the past in IT I very much question the validity of the scheme and what his outright goal is - building a database of people's information to sell maybe?
I drive some quite thirsty cars and a price reduction would to me, like most of us, be good but this is only an idea that has little or no substance and will almost certainly end up lining his pockets and comming to nothing!
There is not a great deal of margin in the fuel prices that the forecourt / oil company gets from petrol and deisel sales (Filling stations use fuel as a means to get you in the garage, sell milk, bread, sweets etc. and oil compnaies make most of their money from exploration and the science part of the busines) and unless he is friends with the Government and can achieve things others have failed at does ,not stand a chance. If only somebody with some real business strength and not an IT geek with a a liking for cars was involved. If the people behind the Allstar can't get cheap petrol can a boy with an idea?
P.S. Ben - I would be carefull with your graphic design as it looks a little too similar to BP!
P.P.S. - Feel free to let me have your feedback - factual please.

We'd all like cheaper petrol, but sorry everyone, it won't work - at least not as publicised. You will have to supply a name & address as well as your EMail - or else how will the ‘free’ card be sent to you?!! Then ask who will pay for (say) 200,000 cards to be posted - i.e. at 30p each, this is £60,000 Also ponder who will administer an address list of these proportions? The 'Pipeline' guys haven't aswered questions like these.

Finally received my Pipeline card this morning, thank god for that. It might have just come in time as we see massive rises in fuel costs.
this may be a lie
