Is it just me, or does this look like someone's interpretation of 1950s Jaguars?

I have to say that i really don't like it. Don't like Morgan either. Retro looks just don't appeal to me in any way, shape or form.

Simply not for me.

I know wich car I would choose, the Wiesmann everytime...
The Morgen aero 8 with BMW 4.4 engine 333ps? is more the car for Winston Churchill
The Wiesmann GT with BMW 4.8 engine 367ps is more for Bond...James Bond

Mimicking a classic is the easy way out. Of couse, as with anything, there is a right way and a wrong way to incorporate old cues into a new design. Sometimes it makes sense and looks great, sometimes it's just plain stupid, but beauty always remains in the eye of the beholder.

As for Morgans, they're not 'retro' -- it's just an old design.

Coming up with a new way for a car to look, without making it silly/stupid/ugly/whatever, is not a simple task. Just try it sometime.

I would rather spend that amount of money on a small collection of older vehicles, with enough left over to build a sports car of my own design.

Check classicdriver.com and check out those prices . . . and think again.

Really liked the story, it is a great car I have seen a few around Zürich, the look and sound wonderful... and so well built. Thanks, good story!

I'm lucky enough to be on the list to own one of the AeroMax's (if they build it!) - which should have the exact same engine as the Weismann.

However if Morgan DON'T build the Aeromax (and they need their heads looking at if they don't)- I will be trying to buy a RHD one of these with the M5 V10 engine.

was at the Monaco car show last year and they were giving rides in their demonstrator around the F1 circuit...awesome....and sounds great in the tunnel. Also, you get a lot more attention than your run of the mill fezza or porka!!!

Yeah I was one of them. They chucked us the keys and said see you in 20 mins! Drove all round the F1 circuit. Stunning car. Ours must have had a different exhaust to the one that Ted tested as it sounded fantastic - especially through the tunnel. As anyone who has been to Monaco will tell you, it takes a very special car to turn heads there and this certainly did! Rumbling through Casino Square was a very special experience

I think they represent pretty good VFM, considering that they are virtually handbuilt to the individual's specifications - and you can get it serviced at your local BM dealer (well almost!). Cracking cars and they will be at Top Marques Monaco again this year, I'll try and blag another drive!

They indeed have different exhaust, those can be made a bit on customers wishes and whats within the law, I've heard it also when I was there, the first few cars made a softer noise...(I also mentioned that to the Wiesmann guys last September? and they said we could give it a bit more sound we are still in the "try out" fase, the car Ted was testing last year was proberbly the 4.4 V8 the first 5 cars? they made with that 4.4 the later cars have the 4.8 V8 and those have more sound outside! sounds awesome, not to loud but a lovely V8 sound, one of the best...every time one of the bosses there(the wildest brother?) came back with that V8 4.8 GT he gives it a bit poke and played with the accellerator where we all stood.
Oh and did I mention I want one...I did didn't I, ok one more time and maybe my wish comes true I WANT ONE :

I'll let you off then Ted

Far as I could tell, they'd just strapped a couple of wacking great 3" stainless steel pipes to the engine and poked them out of the back of the car

The GT's BMW-supplied 367-horsepower, 4.8-liter V8 engine is mated to a six-speed manual transmission, and as of October 2005 an SMG sequential semiautomatic transmission will also be available.

With its body made of carbon-fiber reinforced composite material, the GT weighs 2,756 pounds. The car accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph.

Carbon-fiber body? I thought glasfiber...
And indeed the SMG sequential semiautomatic transmission I saw their in the factory at the open days
