Chrysler Crossfire - Anyone Bought One?
Discussion
When they reviewed it on Top Gear my wife and I both said simeltaneously: "It looks like a dog doing a poo!"
The Clarkson said: "...and for those of you out there thinking. I know what it reminds me of...a dog taking a poo"
Best thing is that my wife knows nothing about cars. It was just her visceral response.

The guy I have just bought my cerb from has just bought one. Can't say that's right becuase, having tasted the cerb experience, who in their right mind would want to get out of a cerb into a crossfire - but he had his reasons. Mainly that his mrs had rolled a griff and never wanted to get back into a TVR.
Are you thinking about getting one?

Mr wife can't and won't drive the Cerbera.
She loves the car, but it also frightens her ( or is that me?! )
I'd like a car I could hammer a bit on track days and use on the road and although
I will use the Cerbera on track, I'd want a mass produced car that costs less to fix
should anything let go!
I was looking at a T350c, but given the Crossfire is half the price (probably half
the car too!) and since I was asked to test drive one just as the sight went, it crossed my mind.
I know for some on looks it will be a love hate thing, but I'm just gathering information.

I think you are right about the love/hate thing as far as looks go, but I have to give Chrysler credit for having the cojones to take chances and make something different. Is it for everyone? No. Is it distinctive? Yes.
Far too many car companies make cookie-cutter cars that you could easily interchange with one another and fail to provoke any kind of reaction. (Granted, if you provoke too many negative reactions you won't sell any cars either...) But I like to see a company that isn't afraid to put something different out there...

Been asked to test drive a Crossfire (once the eye is sorted) but wondered if anyone had
bought one yet and what they thought?
I know there will be a lot of critics of the style, but just interested in the performance information?
what for?
Why did I get asked to test drive one or why do I want the information?
I test drove one, and it is one of the best GT cars I have tried. It's suspension, brakes, engine and auto box all work together superbly to give it effortless GT performance.
It is not a sports car by any stretch of the imagination, however, but handles much better than it's Merc SLK sister.
I read recently they are releasing a much more powerful version soon, which may be worth a look

High performance Crossfire? See www.startech.de/p13e.htm
STARTECH offers an American muscle car made in Germany in the form of the STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1.
The engine bay of the new coupe turned out to be large enough to accommodate the STARTECH V8 6.1 increased-displacement engine, albeit after some modifications. Power is transferred to the rear axle via an electronically controlled five-speed automatic transmission and a custom-developed locking differential.
The STARTECH V8 6.1 engine delivers 426 hp / 313 kW at 5,400 rpm and produces a gigantic peak torque of 621 Nm at 4,100 rpm. Thus equipped the two-seater coupe turns into a purebred sports car with extreme performance potential: The STARTECH Coupe V8 6.1 takes just 4.7 seconds to accelerate from 0 - 100 km/h. Top speed is 300 km/h.
Startech are also developed a tuned Viper as well.

Not driven a crossfire, but I think I'd prefer any of these:
RX8
Audi TT V6 Manual (coming soon in manual)
S2000
Nissan 350Z
