Well almost. This has been for sale forever. How come? Did a search on here for any previous topics on it but couldn't find anything.

It does indeed look like a brand new car and could be a lovely buy but... There is a high chance that no work has been done on the engine since leaving the factory so great potential for requiring a rebuild within 20K miles.

IMHO

It's been mentioned quite a few times over the 3 or so yrs it's been for sale.

Personally I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole - all cars like to be used, but especially TVRs! Think of all the seals, rubbers, gaskets and joints that haven't been used, together with electrics and the engine itself! I'd much prefer one with some decent miles and maintenance under its belt!

That sums it up really and i guess a big factor to why it has never been sold and used. 11 years is a long time to be left stood up. Shocks as well resting still for all that time tyre's will go hard and so on.

When I was looking for a cerb a year ago I requested the photo pack out of interest more than anything else. Its a stunning car, the interior in particular looks superb. It was priced at £27950 then and I ended up in a little bit of a debate with the seller over its value, suggesting £21k as an absolute max (and to be honest I would have been sorely tempted at that price). He got quite shirty saying it had been "independently valued by a TVR expert" at £26500, and they had no intention of dropping the price. When I suggested it would be for sale for a long time - and had been for years already - he emailed me to tell me it was sold. Porky pies clearly.

The price now is getting interesting. If you wanted to drive it then I guess you'd need to factor in a full rebuild with hoses and seals replaced all over etc - what would it come to - £15k say? Brand new cerb for under £40k looks like a potential bargain does it not? Or am I being over-optimistic?

versus 11 years of road use, salt, UV degradation, heat cycle degradation, impact, wear and tear.....Im not so sure (provided its been stored properly) it would be as bad as many think. Many components age with use not without use.

That is great value compared to some other 2nd hand Cerberas if I had the money I would buy this and get it straight down to TVR power for a 4.3 upgrade that would cure any potential engine problems plus a warranty! You would have an as new Cerbera with a far better engine than standard all for less than £30K if I have the engine conversion price in my head correct.

Really surprised that the photos didn't contain a shot of the offside driver's seat bolster coz it's probably the only Carb left with one un-crushed wink

p.s. Still there coz it's a crazy price !

At £21995 it is great value and if you could refresh the engine etc for under £10K then it would be quite a car. But I dont like the colour and so could never own it. And I would be afraid to put miles on it.

The question should be who's ever looked at it?

If you had to do a rebuild, surely it would have to be a V8 transplant ????
