I've been at it with the paint again.
Original:
Black & Grey
I did take the lime green out and made it black, looked much better.
Now it's Ivory and matt black
I think I like the matt black much better and my colour scheme is starting to take shape.
I also had a total battery failure, had to get in the boot, door release cable seized so battery across the solenoid contacts, popped the bonnet and found the battery negative had fallen off.

Great day yesterday. New dual gauge installed and tested. New temp stat installed and after much issues trying to get a working lead I finally managed to get my RS AJP working so I could test the new stat also. This also told me there was only 5 degrees difference between the two. Happy days. Will be a much more relaxed trip to the classics next month.
Hadn't done anything to the underneath of mine since purchase so thought I'd give it a once over
with an oily rag etc. Virtually all of it wiped away without 'washing' although I did notice some
stonechipping to where it had been painted (not the powder coat) before I bought it.
Got out the Dynax 50 and gave it a good skooshing with the wee wand that lets you get into
the nooks and crannies, bloomin' messy but satisfying all the same and it'll give the stones
something else to bounce off of. Painted the driveshafts, polished the centre caps and
tightened up a couple of the exhaust bolts/joints.

I know that I have a thread running on this elsewhere
BUT
It has taken me so long that I have to share (bore) on here too
Took a Throttle Body off - which allowed me to
Take the Alternator out - which allowed me to
Remove the Alternator Mounting Bracket - which allowed me to
Access the Engine Drive Pulley and
Fit a new Alternator Drive Belt.

I've had a magic button and a front splitter installed.
The front splitter is the standard Cupra R from eBay for £50. Takes a bit of trimming to get it to sit straight but I think it looks miles better.
The button on the other hand was fitted by Joolz from kits and classics. Following on from my rebuild, it obviously needed to be remapped, so I requested for the cats to come out too. That's when the button was mentioned.
Decat pops and bangs are great fun, scaring old ladies, making babies cry etc etc, but occasionally it gets a bit tiresome on long motorway drives and I like to try and keep some good relations with the neighbours. So I've now got a switchable map which completely removes pops and bangs.
I have to admit, it doesn't get used very often, but it comes in very handy when I need to burble and not shout.
Oh, and a healthy 367bhp is nice. It was only getting 340bhp before the rebuild.

Sounds good! Who did the rebuild? To standard spec? The front splitter is the standard Cupra R from eBay for £50. Takes a bit of trimming to get it to sit straight but I think it looks miles better.

Str8six did it. Built to standard spec, still a 4.2 as I couldn't afford to mess around with it due to the chassis getting done at the same time. Credit card simply couldn't stretch any further.Any pics of the spitter, I was going to fit one before mine went back on the road..

367bhp is good on Joolz' dyno! Very good.. That is a strong 4.2!

Looks great - what paint are you using on the leather out of interest?
Using the stuff from Furniture clinic. If you want to do a full interior retrim, then it's great for checking colour combinations before stumping up hard cash to do the job properly. I've gone through four different combinations now but I think I'm finally settling on what I want. Even with the x-linker stuff, it still wears off the seats pretty quickly so I wouldn't use it for a permanent job on hard wearing areas.
