I really like the orginal cerbs with the round lights, and Saturn wheels. I should hate this, however I must admit I quite like it! One thing I will say is zooming right into that photo the quality of the work on the headlight conversion looks outstanding. the lenses look to be 100% flush with the bodywork which must have been really difficult to achieve. thumbup

Hi Matthew,

The moulds were made by Brendon ex Raceproved bodyshop guy, so credit for the fit is completely his!! The bodyshop I used to switch from the original, did do a very good job with the finish.

Here's a pic of the new "pods" showing the recessed lip edge that the lenses sit into.

Hey Giorgio,

Ive had a search around t'internet and I cant find the exact ones, they were bought from eaby of all places, but it was 4 years ago now when I had the car rebuilt so may not be still in production.

If I find anything in my archive at home, I will forward on.....sorry!

Don't want to copy all the pics on your response to Matthew P, but where did you get the splitter from? Or is that the Seat Leon one mentioned a few yards back?

Hi QBee,

I bought it from the now seemingly defunct carboncerbie.com website, but the company that makes them (run by the same guy who owned the website) was Thompson Composite Mouldings in Southampton.

There was some fettling to do by the bodyshop to make it fit tight, and there is one of the wheel arch lips that is a little too long and needs seeing too, which is probably more to do with my car I suspect, but overall am very happy with it.

A problem I found out with it a much later date, due the lowering of the frontal extremity of the car and with depth of the underside of the splitter (as below pics), towing the car from the front crossmember will snag on the front and rear lower edges and possibly damage it, unless the winch is very low down on the trailer or towing vehicle.

Thanks Steve - I will have a think about it and read up about front end downforce etc.
I wanted something for my Chimaera for track days, and a friend has fitted something that is the dead ringer of this.
He had to do a bit of fettling, but managed to get a good fit.
I generally drive my car onto its trailer if at all possible, but have recently had to winch it on when I had an ECU failure.
After that, an electric winch is on my birthday wish list!

So it's only me whose first thought was "handy place to put your Costa while waiting for the RAC....."
Not that Cerb engines are in anyway fragile, noo, noo, noo. nono
Having somewhere to put the cups should ensure that you never need it yes

Looks like the Red Barron's plane wings !
In all seriousness though if someone wanted a rear diffuser wouldnt you have to cut into the boot space and potentially move the fuel tank?
