Throttle Pot equivalent parts
Discussion
The blue ones are unobtanium at the moment apparently (racetech said they'd not had any for some time ) so I don't know what people are using because they're a regular fail point.
Ive just used my very last blue one on a car, and I'm trying to sort some replacements via a company in germany but it's hard going.
If anyone finds a suitable replacement that would be great !

I have ordered one from Germany, if you google the Ford part number there are a number of equivalents. I think I only have one that is faulty so when it arrives I will plug the car into a pc and see if the old and new track at the same rate.
Let's hope they do so we all have an alternative source.

Worth remembering that the white ones are the same but in reverse.
No idea whether that means they can be re-engineered.
...Or could you cut the slot through and fit them in reverse? No idea whether that means they can be re-engineered.
How much were th eford ones - the same price as we pay for TVR?
Update on this, Ive just cancelled my order with the german firm who are not the paragon of german efficiency after all ..
Ive just taken the centre out of an old blue pot (which punched out nicely from the other side with a small drift and hammer ..)
However the angle of the D shape isn't a mirror image of the white pot, so the alloy collars on the 4.5 throttle bodies will require moving. I hope mthere's enough room to do this but haven't tried on a car yet.
The blue and white pots are used on opposite ends of the speed6 throttles so should be electrically identical in terms of output v sweep.
I will know more when Ive done some tests, but as a short term measure using the white pot in reverse on the 4.5 *should* be possible as long as the alloy pot collar on the manifolds will allow enough rotation to accomodate the difference in position of the D slot. The only other change would be the swapping of the power and earth connections in the 3 pin multiplug.

These could be a long term solution if they can program them to emulate the ford ones. I'll ring them as I want some for mine anyway.

Just spoke to Jenvey, they are looking into it. It seems that they can be factory programmed to emulate any other TPS but he's not sure how to go about telling them what we need in terms of angles and output voltages so he's looking into it. I have a spare one I think so I'll have an hour on it tonight and see if they are linear and see if can work up a table.
A nice contactless solution would be nice if they are not silly money, although the ford one isn't cheap as TPS units go.

I bought one here :

Slow, but new, and looks like the ones on the car (4.2). Not fitted yet though.
I've looked at those contactless ones but found jenvey pretty unhelpful after the first e-mail. Was planning to buy one for test, but no cash for that for the moment. Supateg has one, but has not tested it yet, AFAIK.
