RSiAJP ?

Has anyone got a review of the full version RSiAJP. I have a Nexus and loaded up Aides app which works very well (and looks better). I was just interested, as I've an iPhone, to hear from anyone with the iOs version. Any experience on it's development and the Bluetooth set up, I know there's a website (http://rsiajp.scullard.com/index.php/en/) which comprehensively tells you about it, I'd just like to hear from some end users from the apple side of things.

aide and I have been working with Greg, who developed the app during early testing and a lot of information from Aide's RSAJP inspired Greg's app so the functionality should be spot on

I know also Greg has been working on the Bluetooth connectivity, and although early support at the moment it will only get broader as we all start using it

Perhaps download the free version, try it out and then upgrade if you like it?

I know Greg's keen to support and grow it so would be up for suggestions etc.

Hi Greg here, I wrote the apps not only because it was suggested by Aide somewhere on these forums but also because everything is on my iPhone and my android tablet usually had flat batteries when I needed it !

It's early days, the app has only been available for less than a week and two that I know of have taken the plunge with a purchase so far. Thanks chaps

I have a few ideas on what other features to add to the app, I'll probably run a poll on the app's page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/rsiajp) to get some ideas from you guys on terms of what's most important to you rather than spend time developing stuff nobody cares about

I'll also record a video of the app in the car over the next few days so you can see it all in action.

Thanks Greg, it's great that both formats can be used in my Cerbera, like you, I often find my battery has died. The Bluetooth set up is a real bonus, so you can charge your phone and still read the data fairly simply. I may well get the Bluetooth adapter and give it a go. Nice work, and I can see from your website you have great future plans. Do you think there's any way oil, pressure and temp can be added into the data mix? Never ceases to amaze me how clever Cerbera owners are.

Hi. If oil pressure is available from the ECU it can be seen on one of the screens (the one with the most dials), there's an option in preferences to turn it on. I believe some of the newer cars had a sensor wired into the ecu. My 2001 Cerbera doesn't have it though.

Oil temp isn't available from the ecu afaik, so unless someone tells me otherwise I can't make it up

Now, once I have the arduino project working, there is scope for adding sensor inputs to it, how about brake pressure as well as oil temp and others ? Not plug and play though, sensors would need to be added to the car but it opens up a world of possibilities.

Hi all, development of new features for version 1.1.0 is now complete and is being tested.

Some of the changes in this version

-Injector duty cycle (0-100% bar) on Throttle Pots Page
-Lean/rich lambda and Fuel-/+fuel adaptives indicators
-Min/max values, reset and datalog
-Option to store and log max speed
-Show current gear (calculated) on screen 2 and datalog

the last two are of most interest (imo) if you're using your car on track and wish to add a data overlay to recorded videos.

RSiAJP v1.1.0 is now available on the App Store, features and fixes are:

-Added min/max display (optional for speed)
-Added current gear display (Note: rear tyre/wheel size and gear ratios need to be set correctly in settings if non standard)
-Min/Max reset
-Min/Max in datalog
-Smoothed G readings
-Increased frequency of G display
-Changed colour of status for B: Connected., E:Timeout to orange
-Removed one decimal from battery voltage readouts
-Added formatting to horizontal and vertical GPS accuracy
-Set default tyre and gear ratios to conform with standard spec (from owners' guide)

I will also likely be ordering a batch of Bluetooth adapters in the near future, let me know if you are interested, greater numbers should attract a discount I will also test each unit prior to sending onto you.

RSiAJP version 1.2.0 is now available !!! Price reduced too, it's the festive season after all

So what's new for less ?

-Voice and sound alerts in foreground and background modes
-Customizable warning and alert levels
-Logging of warning and alerts
-CPU usage down from 80% to 20% (lower drain on battery)
-Improved look and feel
-Customizable application and gauge colours, choose from a colour palette or import colours from pictures
-Bug fixes

I will also soon place a bulk order for adapters. All you need to connect your iPhone or iPad to your ECU over Bluetooth.

Tested, configured, with a USB power lead and a male-male serial adapter shipped to your UK address with tracking and signature for £52.50, let me know if you're interested and I'll add you to the order.

Will this work for Mbe as fitted to Rover V8 TVR or just the speed 6 / AJP V8 engined cars.
I have a 2000 Chimaera with Mbe fitted by Powers 2 years ago.

It would have to be the same MBE unit (941 or 971) and run the same software as the MBE units found in Cerberas, T cars and Sagaris for it to work.

I don't know what powers have fitted to your car, but I suspect that it won't be the same software, let alone the same unit seeing the Rover V8 isn't managed the same way as the AJP engines (you have an AFM for starters).

If you can find out which MBE ECU you have, there may be alternative solutions. The 9a9 for example has OBD.

My aftermarket Mbe Ecu removes the need for a AFM. It has an air temp sensor in its place.
Mbe 9a8 is the model and does have ODB.

In which case you should be able to plug a Bluetooth OBD reader (plx kiwi 3) has good reviews and get most of the data you need out of the ecu on an iPhone or android.
the ecu may need configuring to enable outputs, not sure but presume power would be able to advise.
