Should I shouldn't I - TVR v M3
Discussion
This car was floating about when I was looking for/ buying mine ...Spring 2016. I spoke to the chap that bought it for £8k and immediately readvertised it for 13. There was a thread or two on here around that time that would be well worth you finding and reading.
Briefly:
It may be a really good car but it has a questionable history... I believe it 'disappeared' for a few years and then re-emerged as this Q-plate kit car. No one seems to knows exactly why, but it has been suggested that it was written off or stolen or involved in a hit-and-run... but the problem centres on its status at DVLA; you can never get rid of its Q-plate and you can never register it as or call it a TVR. This is why, two years on, despite possibly more attempts, it is still a Q-plate Ford Quantum (and up for sale again).
I spoke to a friend who has had many dealings with DVLA and knows well how the system works. His advise was to steer well clear as the reasons it ended up registered this way could be due to a murky past and it would be opening a can of worms to even approach DVLA with a view to getting it rightly registered as a TVR. For example, if it was found to have been stolen, you'd end up losing all.

Yea the owner has had it since 2016. I've been searching but can't find the thread any ideas what it was called? Briefly:

While my Cerb was having it's chassis done and engine rebuilt (by str8six & HHC) I have to admit that I fell a little bit out of love with the car.
I have it back now and even while running in, the love has returned. There is simply nothing like a Cerbera.
I've learned a few things during my 18yrs of ownership, as you sound like you'll be keeping your car exactly as I keep mine now - outdoors, on the NE coast etc etc, I'd be happy to give you a heads up on what to expect.
Think I'll go out for a blast now actually, have to get another 400 miles on the clock before it's officially run in and I can use it naughtily again.

That's looks incredible. Where are you based? I'd love to get the heads up on what to expect from an owner of 18 years. I have it back now and even while running in, the love has returned. There is simply nothing like a Cerbera.

I saw yours when I went to look at my engine...I have it back now and even while running in, the love has returned. There is simply nothing like a Cerbera.

Having said that...
How sodding big is the speed 6 engine next to the AJP - it's HUGE!

Byff Sir you are a legend. Appreciate you taking me out and even letting me have a spin. I should be working this afternoon but now I'm frantically looking through the classifieds. I owe you a beer mate.
You're more than welcome, like I said, going out for a spin was better than having to clean the garage out Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
