Interesting to see that the Cerbera edged it over the Lotus in the summary?
No caveats/comments regarding lack of torsional stiffness when Evo penned a swansong to Mr. Metcalfe's
Griffith a few years ago.
Appreciate the Cerb had the tubing over the screen and cabin.., but I believe they tried a fixed roll hoop on the Griff at some point.

I've a 20 year old car with 57k miles.
Out of the 12 years I've owned it, it's probably been at the indy's for over two years, 10 months plus for the chassis off rebuild, 6 months for the engine, a month for the clutch, pluss all the other things that have been done.
Then at the paint shop for 3 months... So I've probably only had it 9.5 years?

Hi Paul
Please tell me, as an honest ex-owner, how a 20 year old car only has 47K miles on it ?

The car was off the road from around 2007 - 2013/14. Did a bit of a rolling restoration up until it needed chassis work which I neither had the spare cash or premises to do. Please tell me, as an honest ex-owner, how a 20 year old car only has 47K miles on it ?

I have a 25 year old Griff with a total of 58k. I did 1,000 of those back in 2005 and it hasn’t been on the road since. Just finishing a chassis job and hope to have it MOTd and in regular use next month.
I also have a 22 year old mx5 with 63k on the clock. I have done a less than 1,000 a year in each of the ten years that I have owned it.
My 25 year old Land Rover has done over 200k, but is a true Triggers broom as the chassis, body, engine, gear box, transfer box, diffs and axles have been changed at different times. Probably only the instrument panel and steering wheel are original. Still, guess what? In the 5 years I have owned it, it has done about 3,000 miles (mostly off road).

I bought the Classic & Sports Car Cerbera, picked it up last week. What an epic car it is! I had a 4.2 a few years back and unfortunately had to sell it. I went to Amore Autos on the Sunday before the Bank Holiday and when I saw it in the flesh/fibreglass, well it looked fabulous. Beautiful colour and interior combination and great condition, immaculate wheels with quality tyres.
I was trying to think of reasons not to get it (difficult to justify such a treat to myself), but as I looked it over and under (Mark kindly put it on the lift to have a look underneath) I could see it had really been taken care of. All the important bits had been done; outriggers replaced, stainless water pipes, silicon hoses, Nitrons, refurbished steering rack, replacement brakes to name but a few.
After a test drive the final thing that convinced me that it wasn't an opportunity to be missed was when Mark asked if I wanted to look at the service history; a lever arch file full of receipts, MOTs, notes, instruction booklets, only 5 previous owners (as said earlier in this thread P S K was one for the longest time) and it had the original user Filofax. Also, it had a PH sticker in the back!
My son drove us from London to collect it (great service from Amore I must add). It took a bit of getting used to, had to stop at the first services we came to so I could sort out the heating/cooling controls. Seemed to be warm air coming from the vents, even though the A/C was on and I was really roasting in there, it was very sunny and warm. Got that sorted and we drove to Portsmouth, where my son lives. It stayed perfectly cool in traffic on the M3 and I was able to work out that someone had cleverly fitted two leds to let you know when the fans were running. We dropped his car off and went for a drive. He remembered the smell of the interior from my last one, which I sold in May 2010 when he was 13 years old.
It roars, pops and bangs all the time, just sounds like it is angry and totally fed up with other cars getting in its way, it's brilliant!
I'm so pleased to be back in a Cerbera. I can't wait to get tinkering and getting to know it again (dug out my old laptop that I used for engine set up before, with the 9 pin serial port on it, running Windows NT 2000 or something, but it still works and has the ECU Diagnostic on it). The whole buying process was a pleasure and I think Mark was relieved that I had already owned a Cerb before. I am over the moon with the one I got AND it was the actual one from a magazine!!

OOHHH i'm having second thoughts now. Mine i've had for 10 yrs soon and i've just promised the better half to sell it. Just like all of you its like you made it just how u want it - its like the smell is favorite wine, the movements are caresses - its small niggles are just loving thoughts towards one mind ; occupational therapy .
is there a substitute - anyone ?
Tried boating, flying already - far off
