Quick question for you Jules, on a car with lambda control turned off if you were to set the throttle pots to 14.4 but with the Rickover set at 1100 rpm would that cause slightly rich or weak running?

Second question, do you map the latest MBE ECU with knock sensing and wide band lambda's?

If there are some blue ones going at a reasonable price I'll have 2 or perhaps 4. Do we know price and ETA delivery yet? What is the current status please?

I heard they were manufacturing more of the blue ones and they would be available in the next few weeks.
I went to Neil Garner's open day yesterday and I think Jason from Str8Six said that (TVR Parts - I think...) were getting some manufactured and they would be available shortly.

I guess us AJP 4.5 owners should be thankful that the straight 6 engine uses one white and one blue so there is another market that needs blue.

The AJP 4.2 White / straight 6 white pots are available on eBay for £20-30 each - it just seems to be the blue version that are unobtanium. Correct?

I got some "white" pots for the purpose of modifying to make them fit my 4.5. As far as I can see the ONLY difference is that the "D" hole that plugs onto the shaft is about 135deg rotated so if you cut a hole in the top and flt the pot upside down... as previously posted by spitfire4v8. I guess they are now rotated by 45deg and hence the issue with the connector fouling AC on the passenger side and needing modding?

see https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Think I'd machine mine out with a milling bit if I went for this option.

FYI: EPA Autoveik in Latvia are showing as having them but don't. My wife has a friend that lives out there so we got them to speak to them without the translation barrier etc. I was getting SMS saying they were checking in the stores but...

Does anyone have any examples of what a good and what a bad throttle pot look like on the diagnostics, so we know if new pots are a good idea? I plugged the laptop in for the first time yesterday. Two screen-shots, one driving round the block and one just pushing the accelerator pedal while on the drive, engine off.

The car has a bad misfire seemingly on the drivers side as far as I can tell. I think that is Throttle2 which does seem a bit like pots. I thought it was pots (spare you the details) but now I'm inclined to think its coil packs given it has new plugs and leads. However if it needs new pots too or it would improve things...

what I was trying to say was...
... I think that is Throttle2 which does seem a bit like the pots a bit more scratchy than Throttle1 but is this bad?

That tpot is a slightly low value, the airflow slightly high, so that would trend the mixture weak from whatever it had been previously.
I'v never mapped one of the later ecus, sorry.

Would you like to, probably from scratch as I don't thing anyone has on an AJP8 yet?

I'm going to have to politely decline that offer but thanks anyway. There's an investment in new mapping hardware required, and I'd lose out in time in the short term with the learning process .. You're only the second person to ask about mapping the latest MBEs so it's not really worth getting involved when Powers already support it and have a wealth of knowledge to draw upon already, cheers for the offer though smile

when I say "If there are some BLUE ones going at a reasonable price I'll have 2 or perhaps 4. Do we know price and ETA delivery yet? What is the current status please?" I mean blue, black or pink with green spots so long as they work on a 4.5.

Hi everyone - just back from work travels - apologies

I'm going to go through the thread tomorrow and top-up everyones requests and post up final numbers to order from the supplier in CN

Just a note - as I'm happy to finance the trade - but I would like to get hard-stops from everyone tomorrow if they are in or out before I order

Many thanks
