Yes, Sina is an exceptionally talented young drummer. This track is a lot more complex and shows how good she is.

I also like these tracks where she has collaborated with other young musicians.

Not especially so.

She's definitely good for her age but it's done to impress rather than to be accurate.

In the sultans of swing for example the key to the drum part is the hi hat in my view and she doesn't even try.
In Burn her timing is a bit suspect too.

Still better than I was at that age though

You want young, good, drummers? Came across this 8 year old girl last night on Youtube, not just playing for playings sake, she really 'feels' it, her enthusiasm is infectious too!

I'd say she's good work in progress.

Seems to be over playing it with her timing suffering as a consequence, but I'd have probably done the same with her talent at that age.

Brilliant, happy kid!

Maybe we could sign her up with Kate on Bass and Audrey on Lead hehehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rqpnQnIQHgs

Kate always makes me laugh as she looks like she's possessed!

Not especially.
Sultans of swing...without the er, swing scratchchin or any of the intricate little parts that make the original so good, such as the part at 4:25 in the original that is one of my favourite pieces of drumming, ever.

Do you not just love that enthusiasm.

Uncorrupted; just the moment and the music.

Yep, think we've all been there, ripping through Led Zepellin songs aged 7,uploading videos online and our parents standing at our bedroom door tutting disapprovingly, "You know what, i think our child's timings off?? Lol.

Problem is all this social media is pushing kids to show off and they all have non-critical parents telling them they're brilliant so they believe it. YouTube is full of them.

Yes some of them are amazing and loads better than I was (and still am :-) ) but it all smacks of "look at me".

There's currently a band of teenagers playing covers of rock songs that is being heavily pushed on YouTube and they're good musicians but really so many cliches and rock god poses its cringeworthy. Someone needs to tell them sometimes less is more.

Here's an example

Mate, her performance has been posted on a public medium and someone asked for comments.

You know how forums work, right?

Don't ask anyone if they like your car, I fear your feelings might get hurt.

Yes i know how forums work, and you've just proved how Pistonheads forums work. Critique a child like she's an adult, then shoot somebody down that says she is an extremely talented 8 year old.

And I said, she good work in progress. I then fully commend another young drummer applying the same criteria, i.e., are they good drummers.

She has a future! Needs to calm down and 'pull' the note out rather than punch it in. Kick was a bit wayward, but hey. Great stuff.

I've posted this before, but look how Neal looks so relaxed (and can go on for 4 hours at Ronnie's!).

The big difference of course is that he was reading this and had never heard it before I gave him the dots. If she can do that, she's sorted.
