Just Wow is all I can say. One of the most amazing bike adventures i've had. The Trip was for 6 days and we landed a few days before in LA and visited the petersons Automotive museum including the vault tour which was a must do and then stayed a few days after in Vegas and took in a few sights.
https://www.petersen.org/

The First day of the trip we went from LA to palm Springs and it was Hot, riding jeans and Eagle riders jacket and tee plus a helmet and gloves and boots was more than enough. Palm Springs was lovely place and surprisingly many of the roads had some lovely corners on them. Most days we had some lovely beds and corners in which was fun. Also my first time on a HD Street Glide. And while heavily and a clunky gearbox, easy to ride and I must say I enjoyed the bike.

Second day was Palm Springs to Laughlin via Joshua tree and Amboy vua Route 66. Amazing scenery and again warm. Only downside was a canadian chap in his late 60's who's used to HD high sided behind me and knocked himself out when breaking on a bend at 35mph locking the back up and totalling the bike fracturing a few ribs. So once the Ambulance, fire and park rangers in Joshua park had taken him to hospital we arrived at hour hotel and casino 2 hours later than normal but going through one of the most amazing lightening storms I had ever seen

Day 3 was Laughlin to the Grand Canyon and WOW the scenory. You just cant take in the distance. it felt like it was not real and you could just lob a rock and hit the other side. the grand scale of it was amazing to see. No picture can give you the feeling of how big the place is. But also 7000 ft it was cold. Very cold and I only had a rain jacket so needed to layer up. Still no waterproof shoes did not help but a warm bath did at the end of the day. Must remember to expect any weather next time. I only checked LA and Vegas weather so was not prepared for the cold weather.

Day 4 was The Grand Canyon to Monument Valley and again wow, views so amazing i could not believe my eyes. Our helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon was delayed so we could not go as low cloud stopped them from flying. A shame but I will be back again. Visited some Native american shops and stayed in Kayenta. The only minor draw back was no Alcohol at the hotel or restaurant as it was Native americans who don't allow it . Glad we all cam prepared and had beer to celebrate another amazing day and I had a few in my room to share with my mate I went with.

Day 5 Was Monument Valley to Bryce canyon and I found this more amazing then the grand Canyon. Just amazing place and watched the sun go down on the Valley before heading to our hotel for the night Again another freezing day riding and very cold but to be expected at almost 10000 ft above sea level. Snow on the ground around Williams town we passed while going to Bryce. Valley of the gods is amazing. It just seemed to be one amazing view after another.

Day 6 Was Bryce Canyon to Vegas and the morning started fun. Snow on the bikes and 3 degrees. So after using warm water to remove the ice and snow from the bikes and warm them up we headed off to vegas via Zion National park. Again amazing views and just WOW. Ending up in vegas 200 miles later and it was 25 degrees +. Amazing change in a short space of time and miles. But we had dropped 8000 + ft.

17 went. 16 finished. From the UK, Brazil, OZ, New Zealand, Germany and Switzerland and we all became good friends in this time. Finished off with a great meal and drinks at the Golden Nugget which was our final Hotel in Downtown Vegas
And a plus the Las Vegas Bike fest 2018 was on the weekend we finished which was based in Fremont street outside the Nugget. So enjoyed the last day and a half in vegas, went to the Strip and enjoyed a night at Bikefest and plenty of very good music going on throughout the evening in down town vegas.

What can I say, Eagle riders. I was happy to tour without a lead and in a group but so glad I did. Well organized, Took us to some amazing places. the tour leader Steph was amazing as was Rod our support va driver. Made sure we had a beer or 2 every night if we wanted once we got to our hotel, If you don't drink tell him and he got alternatives. Even with a few issues such as poor weather at times and the accident it was an eventful trip. Anyone like me unsure of what to do will be very happy with Eagle riders if they book with them.
I know I will be booking again in the future.

Awesome stuff, and thanks for sharing! Would love to go - have been so often to the US, but never yet toured on a bike. One day. Any tips for booking/etc?

Hya Mate best and only tip for going. Expect the worst weather. I was thinking mis 20's and ended up snowing. Not fun when not prepared. So take summer gear but also textiles. Wish I took textiles.

As for booking I would suggest Eagle riders. Not cheap but very well run, great people and will have my return money in the future.
And get a comfy bike. My Street Glide was great for wind protection even at 6ft 2". But I did take a full face helmet. Again glad I did as many who came with a open face and sun glasses which could have not been nice in freezing weather we had for a few days

I seen you where in LA just before me for work.

Looked great smile

We did the Route 66 over 15 days with Eagle Rider last year and it was fantastic too. Echo the full face helmets - we had 3 in our group that had just hired half helmets, who regretted it a couple of days in. We had all weathers too from tornadoes, 40 deg desert, snow capped mountains.

Will be going back again, probably do the rockies with Eagle Rider - couldn't fault them as a tour company, very professional, with great guides.

Did Colorado/Utah/Yellowstone two years ago and can back up the views are unreal. Sadly not on a bike but would go back in a heartbeat.

I've managed to go through the 170 gig of video I had and took it down to 20 mins of video. I'm no blogger or anyone very good with making videos but I gave it a try

It's worth watching just for the lighting show half was through which was a big highlight of the trip for everyone who went

Bit of a update not on this trip but I have booked for next Autumn to go and do the coast to coast tour.
LA to Daytona. 3 weeks again on a Harley which was a great experience last time in the US.

Cannot wait

This trip

Reason for using Eagleriders again is simply that it was such a well organised trip and company we wanted to do something Big. So instead of 6 days riding and 10 days in the US it's now 16 days riding (3500mile) and in total 21 days over there. Flights are cheap with BA or AA. Under £800 return for 2 people.

Cannot wait

That looks like a fantastic trip. If you like the West Coast, I've used Motoquest rentals and ride2rideagain.com.

Blimey! It’s not cheap, but then when you factor in bike, hotels, meals, it’s not quite so bad. I quite like the look of the 15 day/14 night Alaska to Seattle trip - I watched the YouTube series of the guy who bought the Royal Enfield Himalayan from a RE dealer in Seattle, then rode it home via a chunk of Canada to just outside Anchorage in Alaska (Karmakaze Moto is his channel, I think).

I’m on the rubbish hospital WiFi at the moment, so adding links is hopeless.

Maybe when I retire from the cops in a few years and get my pension commutation, I can spend some moe y on something like this. Or if I get any sort of decent payout for my personal injury claim...
