If you've an interest in historic F1 and particularly Rob Walker's team and Lotus connections - Sunday in Dorking Surrey is the place to be!

Two years of planning have already gone into organising this event which will celebrate one of the most successful F1 privateer motor racing teams - The Rob Walker Racing Team. The necessary administrative approvals are all signed off to allow ordinarily illegal vehicles (ie historic F1 racing cars) permission to come onto the public highway for a parade around the town where the team was originally based.

Apols if someone has already started a thread on this - I'm not a regular Lotus posted (first post infact) and I've not got time to read back through - so apols if already covered / duplicated.

I’m looking forward to this and will visit the museum exebition too.

My Dad worked at Pippbrook in period and worked on Rob Walker’s personal cars.

If you're going, watch out for new average speed cameras on the A24 dual carriageway between Leatherhead and Dorking.

Back in the day that section, which has significant curves, used to have a warning sign that said "Deceptive Bends". driving

Wikipedia says of 10cc's album Deceptive Bends, "The name of the album came from a warning sign for dangerous curves on the southbound A24 between Leatherhead and Dorking in Surrey; the sign is no longer there."
