Have you been able to reuse the original PS pump coupling?

It looks as if the PS keyway is 4mm in this photo, it looks much larger than the 3mm Oil Pump keyway next to it (although that could be wear due to damage)

That would be odd since your car is a '97 and I believe the uprated shaft was not introduced until '99

Hi Paul

The PAS keyway is 4mm and the coupler which is new just slid on, but I had already filed the key slightly.

The coupler is 4mm too, so it's meant 5o be tight fit. But like I said I had filed the width but not for issues in fitting.

My engine (96) has a later style shaft and a large journal crank but no receipts/paperwork to show a rebuild but it must have had at some point. Lucky though.

Has anyone had to replace the pump impellers?

At £450 for a pair it's something I'd like to avoid

Water pump impellers? I've only heard of them being replaced if they crack when pressed off the shaft. If they do crack you could consider a CWA400 and tinyCWA contro9but you're probably about the 450 mark by the time you've made some plumbing alterations to fit 1 of them in.

Can anyone show me how the oil pump separates from the water pump housing?

I'm assuming mine is going to be very difficult to remove, as I am expecting the oil pump Woodruff key to have failed meaning the rotor will be seized on the shaft

Perfect - shows there's no point me removing the studs as there's a pin that will stop the assembly rotating

Thanks Paul.

Also any ideas on numbers for the oil seal and open cage bearing that the PAS adapter bracket holds?

Seal is R23 25x35x7

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173653261102

Bearing is the ubiquitous 6201 12x32x10 Open

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/173653251827

I used SKF because it really is a critical component

I'm pretty sure the bearing is also a 6201 as before

Also, make sure you use some assembly lube like this

It is in a different league to anything else you might try in these difficult times
