From the list above^^^
ndicator/main beam switch is Vauxhall Cavalier Mk3/Cbra/VX220. Vauxhall No 9181010
Way cheaper than TVR outlets. Only mod required was to cut the stalk and trim to allow fitting of the alloy stalk, held on with small allen screws.
Wiper switch same donor and fitting.

Thanks Bob, what about the column itself? Do all cavaliers have the tilt adjustment?

Sorry John, just revisited this and see you original post was not as I scan read, and was about the actual column. Are you asking the same question on the TVR Griffith facebook page, or coincidence?

From memory, only the GL and above had tilt. My 1989 L had a fixed column.

If you can confirm this is correct with some photos I found this one on ebay from a Cavalier GSI which didn't sell so he might be up for an offer

I found a column from a breaker in hull, my problem was my horn was only working now and then, finally traced to the tilt part of the column not earthing to the lower steering column. I think I solved it by working the tilt up and down and rotating it, seems to be ok now. This fault was a real pain to find but at least I have a spare column for a spare.

Can you confirm the steering column you got was from a Cavalier and do you know which version (GSi etc)
I've put an entry in the Griffith Parts List for this already but I'd just like to confirm I've got it right.

Thanks

It'll be the same tilting column for the GL, CD, SRi and GSi. The base and L models had a fixed column.

Remember it isn't a standard Cavalier column. The spline on the end isn't standard Vauxhall - it is the same as used on the classic Range Rover (amongst other things)

I have some photos of the modifications somewhere when I did the EPAS conversion on mine. I will post them if I can find them.

Found the horn faulty again, this time found that the earth does not go through the column to the rack, late models seem to have an earth wire off the top section of the tilt mechanism so I put one in and problem seems to have been solved, thanks for all the help, PS the Astra mk3 is supposed to be the same as the cavalier [ the bottom part of the column has to be changed for a tvr splined one.]
