Here is Barries in red on top of my graph.
Why he still cant beat me on the drag strip is anyones guess
I'm guessing Barry would say he's disadvantaged by the size of the driver in such a light car Why he still cant beat me on the drag strip is anyones guess
more likely it's all about launch technique, getting that grip down early?

I am over 15 stone and despite Barries height would think he's lighter.more likely it's all about launch technique, getting that grip down early?
We actually get very similar launches and have both run very low 1.5's to 60 foot.
I think Barrie just needs more time on the strip and when the conditions are right and the stars aligned he should run 10.5
Apostrophe alert !!
Derek....have you and Barry ever had a run down the strip at the same time.....that's a video I'd love to see.
I presume you'll be quicker off the line with Barry creeping up on you towards the end of the run?
I must admit the friendly rivalry between the two of you was one of the highlights of the day

Derek does have one I think. The last meet of the year at Santa Pod.
I will get my excuse in first.....I missed 2nd gear due to that pesky clutch.
As you say it's all good banta.
The Cerb gang will have to take part in the 2020 TVR shootout at Santa Pod. It's a great weekend of racing, beers and BBQ's. Not particulary in that order.

I was showing people the details from Saturday. I liked the comment "Only in the TVR world could your 370bhp be considered underpowered"
Macbags The dyno shoot outs drag days are such a laugh, racing banter is funny as fk if you don’t take it to seriously,, the racing's deadly serious though
The drag days (no, not those) are a laugh and I used to enjoy them, but I'm a 12 second driver in a 10 second car having too much mechanical sympathy and shyte tyres/technique. Terminal speeds at end of 1/4 mile were good and best was 128mph but woefull 1/4 mile time so shows how the car used to go once hooked up. I would go again as spectator just for the craic and take the piss. Dyno sheet below for comparison as it was on Charlies at SRR, albeit in 2015.

If it helps when I dyno’d my 420 seac before my resto started she was also 250 bhp. Like you original engine. When rebuilding the engine the heads / valves were pretty bogo. A bit of light porting but nothing like what was “supposed” to done lol. God bless tvr lol. Once rebuilt and on the running in dyno just shy of 310 and Joolz will be adding an Emerald in 2020 once car is back from paint

A really great event, thanks to Joolz for organising, Charlie for doing all the work and Biker28i for all of the excellent photos!
Was also good to put faces to the various names on PH and to see and understand the amount of effort that goes in to making some of those massively impressive power/torque figures. The turbo cars were very impressive, but for me the highlight of the day was nawarne’s Tuscan with a Str8Six 4.3 S6 making 412 BHP. Impressive!
I took the SEAC along to see just what a 32 year car on its original engine (no rebuilds) could do. 250 BHP was a bit lower than I’d hoped for, but when you consider its age, not bad. Charlie thought it was running sweetly from the graphs, but thinking about a trip to Joolz just to check nothing is obviously amiss (I also checked for the butterfly opening fully on full throttle when I got home and it is in the SEAC's case).

Now I know what I know, I am really surprised it made as much as 250 bhp! Off to be rebuilt in the new year and once run in, will put it back on the rollers and see what it does then.Gassing Station | Cerbera | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
