Sounds like titanium replacements would make a big weight saving.

Why the laughing?

I have replaced about 70% of the bolts on my car with Titanium.

People spend 4000 plus on 20-30 bhp but they don't like to spend money reducing weight which improves many more areas of performance. My battery was £600 and saved over 15kg

They aren't cheap. RS Components, or some of the bike suppliers such as
pro-bolt: https://www.pro-bolt.com/titanium/fully-threaded.h...
Technipart: http://www.teknipart.co.uk/en/page/titanium-screws
TiBike: http://tibike.co.uk/shop/

Etc...

Suddenly I'm thinking of the titanium skid blocks on F1 cars and the sparks they generated...

In my instance it was a bit of a deal with the bloke doing my roll cage, he does a lot of superbike stuff and the teams give him bucket loads of them, I borrowed a big bin of them and got cracking. I know even the small ones were £6 each but these small savings all add up to a lot and we would spend £1000 on 10 bhp quite easily (the bloke that specced my engine before I bought it from him paid £26k plus the standard cossie engine)
