Wiper motor park switch is from a Mini, a real one not one of those BMW fakes!

Also the wiper motor is from a Mini but you have to change the gearbox over, not a difficult job. The mini has a 110 degree sweep and the Cerbera 170.

Is the coolant reservoir from a ford with all the electrical extras? If you look on the bottom it has a connection for a computer, to register that he coolant level is low !!

The coolant bottle top is a VW item, so I would have thought the bottle is too ? I'll have a look at the weekend & see if I can find a part number (unless someone can beat me to it ?) & will check on my VW part list (I'm a Mk1 Golf nut)...

I've just discovered one.....

The petrol cap cork sealing washer is the same as that used on old Triumph motorcycles. It's a 2½" cork seal.

Part No is 82-4048 and they can be bought from www.btinternet.com/~hawkshaw.motorcycles/triumph8.html

or I got mine from eBay believe it or not!!

The fit is very tight with the new seal, but I expect this to loosen as the cork gets squashed.

My old one had a split in it and I was leaking fuel as I went round roundabouts...

Leaking is an understatement, If I had a length of pipe long enough I could have driven mine off of the fuel you were losing round that roundabout.

Recently discovered that the weld liner tube (for Mig welders) makes an ideal replacement for the windscreen wash pipe, and only 3 quid from halfords.

I bought a mark 2 mini wiper motor which was too small and 14 W not 29 Watts. I could use the brush set and limit switch but not the rest. Would anyone like a brand new mini armature VERY cheap?!!! Incidentally I reduced current use from 6 amps to less than 2 amps by checking armature bearings were correctly lubricated and the armature aligned with the bearings and with correct end-float. I did this by running the motor with an ammeter in series while I did final tightening.

It was the same motor as fitted to my MKV Mini, same Lucus number.

I know the gearboxes were different, but then again you did get a very early mini wiper motor I would have gone for a MKV 1996-00 year.

The air con belt on it made by Gates, a very common aftermarket manufacturer the part number on the belt is MICRO-V 58374. Does anyone have any wiring diagrams, especialy for main beam headlights and windscreen washers, also any setting data for the engine, thanks.

Door opener solenoid is an off the shelf actuator made by Spal and sold as an aftermarket adaption for other makes of car. If original not available, this one from in-car-stuff costs £4.50 plus postage and is a direct swap (fixing holes line up) apart from needing to fit a couple of crimped on connectors

There is a little blue box sandwiched behind the wheel well near the interior-fan/blower, this blue box contains a refund certificate, basically you take this certificate and your car to any dealer who took part in this special offer and you get the full value of the car as what it was when sold new.

Happy hunting!
