AJP8 Chain Tensioner Needed
Discussion
Hi All,
Someone (not me, really) has misplaced the chain tensioner for their Cerbera V8. They don't seem to be available from any of the normal suppliers so I'm calling out to see if anyone has one to spare, or knows where I might get one outside of Racing Green, Powers or Str8six.
Thanks,
Chris

Superb timing Chris !
Sorry, but I don't know where to get one from, in fact, I'm so clueless, I don't even know where the chain tensioner is
BUT
I do feel that I should have a go at 'regulating' mine.
So
May I Oik your post and ask anybody out there where I can find how to do it ?
(and the values involved)
Ta !
(and Sorry, once again}

I don't have a spare one but mine was quite worn (83k miles ish) when doing/having an engine rebuild done so I replaced the plastic with nylatron-66 which I believe BMW use for their chain tensioners, probably other makes as well. If someone could supply a drawing with some measured dimensions for the metal part you could get a new one made.
Have a word with Dom at Powers, or send me a PM, as he's had a few existing tensioners relined for engines he has built, including mine.
They're quite agricultural, simple things, but getting the right material, finished and done correctly, with the rivets peened over properly, isn't something you want to take a chance on because of the risk from failure if it's wrong.
They weren't cheap, because it's such a manual process, but it was worth getting done for peace of mind.
