Hello all.

I've long fancied a cerbera, but the market seems small or perhaps I'm looking in the wrong place. I don't mind the condition too much, a bit of a project would be OK. Metal worker by trade so even a car needing chassis repairs would be worthy of consideration.

Apart from.car and classics etc, is there anywhere else worth looking for.decent cars or.semi projects?

Thanks all

Ben

Most 'projects' seem to end up on ebay, or the worse get snapped up by the breakers. It's a small market, so Pistonheads, ebay, maybe the owners club and facebook?

With a project you could be into a world of hurt that will cost you more in the long run, or you could look at it that you'll end up with a car you know is done properly?
You need to look at chassis condition, also if it's had new outriggers look at how they were done.
Look for signs of water ingress, the state of the electrics, servicing record etc

Definitely a small market, there aren't many left! I'm guessing budget could also be limiting?

Autotrader gets it's fair share of TVRs too.

Pistonheads of course - https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/tvr/cerbera
Autotrader - https://www.autotrader.co.uk/cars/tvr/cerbera
Car and Classic - https://www.carandclassic.com/list/100/cerbera/
Ebay - https://www.ebay.co.uk/b/TVR-Cerbera-Cars/9801/bn_...
Classic trader sometimes - https://www.classic-trader.com/uk/cars/search/tvr/...

and then the local papers via newsnow

Be prepared to travel for the right one. The advantage with so few is that most are known about, so if you spot one someone here will probably know it or of it.

The wording used to create this topic fooled me in a big way

Was going to comment that hunting can be a difficult problem to find and possibly caused by air leaks or fuel pressure playing up amongst other possibles

Anyway, hope you find one

Byker outlined the main sites. I would just add, you need to be prepared to move quickly if the right car comes up as its a small market

Facebook has a few TVR groups: I seem to recall seeing two Cerberas being listed there very recently.

Might be worth joining those (it’s where I found my Tuscan)…

I sold mine on Facebook, and it might be worth contacting Alex Cox on facebook as he was trying to sell my old Cerb a few months ago.

I sold mine on pistonheads, took nearly a year.

Most are overpriced junk… be careful.

Hard sell, so it’s a buyers market.

If you are looking for a project then just check what’s on the sites mentioned and go for spec you like. Check chassis and the usual body mechanical and negotiate on price depending on what you find. There aren’t many cars out there as it’s a low volume car anyway. Good cars will be high 20s for 4.2 and 30s for 4.5

Good Grief !

I realise that advertised prices are only pipe dreams

BUT

BlackBeauty© is the car I've owned the looongest in my life, the most I've learned from and, if you believe the pipe dreams, she's also the biggest appreciating asset that I've ever owned thumbup

I am considering my 1999 4.5 Cerbera.

Been off the road for 10 years, just had top end engine rebuild a coupe of month ago, engine is in car but needs plumbing and wiring back in etc. Just had new silicone coolant hoses, decats and sports exhaust etc.

Main chassis is solid as it was checked when engine out and old heat-shielding replaced.

I will need the outriggers replacing before its put back on the road, however sounds like this wouldn't be a big issue for you.

Its the yellow cerebra on my profile pic, if interested drop me a PM/Email.

If you are still looking try the Car Club website, I advertised my 4.5 on there and sold it in a week for what I was asking for it
