hi batman..... saw ur car, it sold so quick, i was seriously considering it... have you seen it's back on sale with a 7K markup and the private plate removed... wtf?

so would you recommend an e gear?

And hi to you mateybiggrin
Yeah it did go quickly, right at that time i just tried to be realistic price wise.
I would have liked to have kept the front bumper, but reasoned it may help sell it.
Seems it did.
Prices seem to have gone mad,i do think that my car was sweet, and reasonably sorted.
Private plate yeah, was a bit shocked to see it advertised when i have that number on retention.
All sorted now,the guy selling it is a real nice chap, and he`s not the person i sold to.
E-GEAR I would love to be able to help, biggrin lets just say can i get back to you...................
kinda waiting on a v5 whistle
Lambobrum thanks once again.need a bit of help mate,pm sent.
cheers

looks like some of the 2004 cars being sold privately are being brought by dealers/others to immediately resell at a higher price.... assume thats what has happened to yours.....you did sell at a fair price, thats why it went quick, and the spoiler defo helped...

you got a car for me??????? decided on 2006+ btw.....though i would like one without a dodgy v5!!
now we are mates, don;t forget mates rates!!! wink

is egear not harder wearing on the clutch and a tad unreliable..... for a car out of warranty, manual may be safer bet?

biggrin If you can go 06+ you should end up with a real nice car.
That said i had no probs with my 04,just wanted to move up.

Egear ,not sure they are any heavier on clutch`s, and they are easier to
check wear %.
There is a lot more to go wrong with the e gear, 6 speed manual is just a clutch/t bearing.
If you get a chance i would try and get a drive in both.

Not sure why but if my 04 was e/gear i may have just kept it.

I will look out for 06+ cars for you.The v5 i`m waiting on is for a very nice 06 spyder
it came up a few weeks ago with all the right bits on it,i just had to grab it before it
ended up at a dealer. Exactly what i was after.

What colour are you after,i know your after a coupe, not convertible.
Keep checking the a/trader and p/heads adds, cars are popping up all the time at the moment.
Cheers, and stop reading this and get back to the classifieds biggrin

hi mate, congrats on your new car..... defo would like to hear your views on egear vs manual.....

i've read egear is better at slipping clutch, i assume at slow speeds, hence higher wear rate.....

ideal spec.... nero/yellow; titanium calisto; mdsh; 'e' series clutch; low miles; two tone interior (not yellow/tan); yellow calipers

and i check the classifieds here far too much (up to 4 times a day!!! eek)

I could have you are quite correct......
I've hardly driven it myself of late for one reason or another.
Back to Stevanage next week to get the bonnet done again!

So what have you bought then? Don't we get to see pics?

Just as a ref for colour ,this has been around for sale awhile, but that may be for
other reasons.
http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1939345.htm

I think it`s ok,but not one near the top of the list.
Colour really is a personal thing eh.

Chris, was looking at 08`s this came up and saved me 24k biggrin

That car was the top gear car that JC blatted around the track very sideways for a day when it was new. Shouldn't do it any harm and it the star on Dave at least once a week now! lol
