That video made me feel physically sick.
The fact that some idiot could just wipe out 2 lives in an instant like that and most likely cripple another 2. Not to mention, the result may have been a hell of a lot worse!
+1 unfortunately there isnt much you can do about it if you're in the wrong place at the wrong time. The fact that some idiot could just wipe out 2 lives in an instant like that and most likely cripple another 2. Not to mention, the result may have been a hell of a lot worse!
Going by the time on the camera, it was 4am when this occurred. Cannot understand how the driver thought going through a red like that, even at this early hour, would have be even a 50/50 risk. Madness. Huge impact with a V12 basically going through your door at whatever speed he was doing. Big enough impact to kill the taxi driver who would have been seated furthest from the point of impact on the right. I imagine the passenger would have been at the back of the taxi on the left side as most people don't sit behind the taxi driver.
The third car, the one that looks like it was to the right of the car that got hit was very, very fortunate indeed.
Questionably driven cars from Maranello causing loss of life seemed to be the theme for the weekend..

As an aside, who are there people around the world that always seem to have their video cameras rolling, often in the most seemingly mundane of circumstances, and capture all these things?
I guess this is a bus cctv system that caught it. Ive worked on them before and they catch all sorts of incidents which is a good thing of course as too many times people get away with crimes due to lack of footage/evidence etc, even then criminals can still get away with it. Tragic circumstances and a real hard hitting video to be honest AngryApples said:
Crash pictures are one thing, but when we know 1 person died in it and several were killed by the carnage, why the fk is that picture being posted?
Ghoulish in the extreme IMHO
I think it's important to see stuff like this - it certainly makes me think twice about the way I drive.Ghoulish in the extreme IMHO

In Asia, it is pretty common, i and most people i know have dashboard camera's .... there are too many muppets on the road like this, so you have the camera's running all the time for use in insurance cases (the intention is not to catch stuff like this, but it does happen) z4chris99 said:
I saw that exact car last week, his driving was spirited to say the least
Have / had encountered him a few times on the road ... he was a bit too enthusiastic about a race at any opportunity. my (unsupported) guess would be that he was doing just that, Victoria Street is a long, 4 lane wide road that does get traffic light grand prix occasionally.
The big question currently is why no airbags deployed in the Taxi Cab .....
Very nearly had a repeat of this in front of me, although at lower and thankfully manageable speeds. The traffic lights seemed to be in the mini van driver's blindspot and I could see he had no intention of stopping. It wasn't until it hit him that people were walking out to cross the road that he realised something wasn't quite right. A few people in his path just froze and a few chose a direction to run and went with it. Luckily the vast majority of people on the road are travelling at speeds which allow emergency braking to be effective. He was a good 20ft away when he came to a stop, thankfully, but got a good scolding from the old-timers who ALWAYS seem to pop out of nowhere at times like this.
As for posting photos of the crash I wholly agree with it. Everyone feels they are, to some degree, invincible until they have an accident. A close shave never brings the reality home in the same way. If seeing what can happen when things go wrong leads those some wilder drivers taking it easy when they are behind the wheel, it's a positive thing from a very unfortunate incident.

I would hazard a guess it's less traffic light grand prix given the time than trying to impress his passenger....my (unsupported) guess would be that he was doing just that, Victoria Street is a long, 4 lane wide road that does get traffic light grand prix occasionally.

Local news report. Seems the taxi driver wasn't killed. As I said previously, the passenger would most likely have been sitting on the left side so as not to sit behind the driver, the taxi driver would have been furthest from the impact. One less life lost, a good thing.
